TheHead of PMO (Project Management Office) is a senior leadershipposition reporting into CEO responsible for overseeing thestrategic direction governance and performance of projectmanagement activities within an organization. This role involvesleading a team of project managers scrum masters compliance andaudit team to ensure the successful delivery of projects inalignment with organizational goals and industry standards. TheHead of PMO plays a critical role in driving project successmaintaining high standards of quality and fostering a culture ofcontinuous improvement within the organization. This positionrequires strong leadership communication and strategic planningskills as well as a deep understanding of project managementmethodologies and bestpractices.


Whatyou will do

  • StrategicPlanning:Develop and implement strategic plans for project managementpractices aligned with the organizations objectives and CMMI Level3 requirements. Measure success through the achievement of keyperformance indicators (KPIs) related to project alignment andstrategicgoals.
  • ProjectGovernance:Establish project governance frameworks policies and procedures toensure projects adhere to quality standards timelines and budgets.Accountable for maintaining project compliance with establishedgovernance metrics and for addressing any deviationspromptly.
  • TeamManagement:Lead and develop the PMO team including project managers scrummasters compliance and audit team to ensure a highperforming andcohesive unit. Accountable for team performance professionaldevelopment and fostering a culture of collaboration andaccountability.
  • ProcessImprovement:Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO to enhanceproject delivery efficiency effectiveness and quality. Measureimprovement through quantifiable metrics such as cycle timereduction cost savings and client satisfactionscores.
  • ResourceManagement:Oversee resource allocation including staffing training anddevelopment to optimize project delivery capabilities. Accountablefor resource utilization rates employee retention and skillenhancement initiatives within thePMO.
  • RiskManagement:Identify assess and mitigate project risks to ensure successfulproject outcomes and client satisfaction. Accountable formaintaining risk registers risk mitigation plans and for minimisingprojectrelated issues that impactdeliverables.
  • PerformanceMonitoring:Develop and implement performance metrics and reporting mechanismsto track project progress identify issues and drive correctiveactions. Accountable for meeting project milestones deadlines andbudget targets as defined by projectplans.
  • StakeholderManagement:Collaborate with key stakeholders including clients project teamsand senior management to ensure alignment of project objectives andexpectations. Accountable for fostering positive stakeholderrelationships and resolving conflictspromptly.
  • CommunicationManagement:Foster a culture of proactive communication. Accountable forbuilding the entire project team to have proactive communicationfor the scope change management weekly summaries action items etc.
  • QualityAssurance:Ensure compliance with CMMI Level 3 standards and other relevantquality management frameworks through rigorous quality assuranceprocesses. Accountable for maintaining quality standards and forachieving or exceeding qualityrelatedKPIs.
  • ChangeManagement:Lead change management efforts to foster a culture of adaptabilityand innovation within the PMO and across project teams. Accountablefor successful implementation of change initiatives and formeasuring the impact on project outcomes and teamperformance.
  • VendorManagement:Manage relationships with external vendors and subcontractors toensure seamless integration of thirdparty resources into projectdelivery processes. Accountable for vendor performance adherence tocontractual agreements andcosteffectiveness.




Requirements


Whatyou ll bring


  • Bachelors degree in computer science Engineering Business Administration orrelated field; Masters degreepreferred.
  • Certificationin project management (e.g. PMP PRINCE2) and CMMI (e.g. CMMIAssociate CMMI Professional) highlydesirable.
  • Provenexperience (10 years) in project management with a focus on ITconsulting or software developmentprojects.
  • Demonstratedleadership experience in establishing and leading PMOs preferablyin organizations certified at CMMI Level 3 or above. Provideexamples or case studies showcasing your leadership role inspearheading the organizations CMMI certification process includingspecific strategies implemented challenges overcome and measurableoutcomesachieved.
  • Strongunderstanding of project management methodologies tools and bestpractices including Agile Waterfall and hybridapproaches.
  • Excellentcommunication negotiation and stakeholder management skills withthe ability to influence and collaborate effectively at allorganizationallevels.
  • Proficiencyin project management software (e.g. Jira ADO) and productivitytools (e.g. Microsoft Officesuite).
  • Analyticalmindset with a track record of driving process improvements anddelivering results in complex and dynamicenvironments.
  • Abilityto thrive in a fastpaced clientfocused and deadlinedrivenenvironment while maintaining a high level of professionalism andintegrity.

What you ll bring Bachelor s degree in computer science,Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; Master'sdegree preferred.
