JOBOVERVIEW

As a Character Artist atXogar Games you will be responsible for creating highqualitycharacter models for our projects. You will work closely with theDeveloper Animators and other artists to ensure the characters arevisually stunning and aligned with the creative vision of theproject. Your work will be crucial in driving the visual appeal andoverall playerexperience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Producing highqualityanatomically feasible photoreal or stylized CG character models inline with brief and/or reference material.

Interpret abstract ideas or concept art into the creation ofcompelling photoreal or stylized character

Ensuring consistency of UV mapping and polygonalsubdivisions

Create highly detailed and visuallyappealing character models including textures materials andshaders.

Collaborate with concept artists todevelop character designs from initial sketches to finalmodels.

Work with animators to ensure charactermodels are rigged and ready for animation.

Optimize character models for performance without compromisingquality.

Stay updated with industry trends andtechniques to continuously improve and innovate.

Participate in critiques and provide constructive feedback to teammembers.

Ensure all character assets meettechnical requirements and are compatible with the game engine orsoftware being used.

Researching referencematerials for aesthetics and genre of game film oranimation.

SKILLSREQUIRED

  • Bachelorsdegree in Fine Arts Computer Graphics or a related field orequivalent experience.
  • 4 years experience withcharacter animation in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Provenexperience as a Character Artist in the gaming or filmindustry.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing charactermodeling texturing and shadingskills.
  • Proficiency in industrystandardsoftware such as Maya ZBrush Blender Substance Painter andPhotoshop.
  • Knowledge of cloth simulationhair/fur modeling and other advanced charactertechniques.
  • Understanding of anatomy form andproportion as it applies to charactermodeling.
  • Experience with rigging and preparingcharacter models for animation.
  • Strongcommunication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability totake constructive feedback and iterate ondesigns.
  • Attention to detail and a passion forcreating compelling characters.
  • Experience withPBR (Physically Based Rendering)workflows.
