Cloudera is on the lookout for a Staff Software Engineer with deep expertise in Java and a passion for platform architecture. Be part of the dynamic Cloudera Observability team, a center of innovation dedicated to developing a high-fidelity, context-rich, and fully correlated self-service observability & optimization product. Cloudera Observability is pivotal in analyzing the state and wellness of customer environments, empowering them to proactively discover and resolve intricate challenges in their data. It's about scaling operations seamlessly while maintaining optimal performance and cost efficiency, and hastening issue remediation.

As a Staff Software Engineer, immerse yourself in a global collaborative environment. You'll work with a team of adept engineers led by an Engineering Director and engage with peers and stakeholders across India, the United States, and other countries, bringing diverse perspectives and expertise to the table.


As a ​Staff Software Engineer - Observability you will:

Architectural Leadership : Spearheaded the architecture, design, and implementation of critical aspects of the Cloudera Observability platform, focusing on data collection, analytics, correlation, and recommendations.

Cross-functional Collaboration : Work closely with product management, engineering, UX, and documentation teams to deliver cutting-edge products that meet the highest standards of quality.

Customer and Partner Engagement : Interact directly with customers and partners to help define the product roadmap and shape future technology directions.

Team Empowerment : Foster a culture of excellence and rapid delivery, enabling team members to produce high-quality software efficiently.

Software Engineering Passion : A fervent interest in software engineering with a commitment to clean coding practices, meticulous attention to detail, and a focus on quality and testability.

Technical Expertise:

Advanced skills in object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.

Proficiency in Java, including concurrent programming.

Understanding of Java memory management, performance tuning, and scalability.

System Architecture Savvy : Deep knowledge of system architecture, including process, memory, storage, and network management.

Containerization Skills : Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and related orchestration technologies.

Data Handling : Proficiency in handling large datasets, and experience in building horizontally scalable products.

Database Knowledge : Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases like PostgreSQL, Athena, Impala, Hive, and DynamoDB.

It is a plus if you have:

Cloud Product Development : Experience in developing enterprise-grade cloud products.

Observability Product Experience : Previous work on building or using cross-functional observability products.

Educational Background : BS or MS in Computer Science.

Cloud Platforms : Familiarity with AWS, Azure, GCP.

Additional Technical Skills : Proficiency in Python, Linux, and Microservices .
