Requirements

Weare seeking an experienced Senior Snowflake Developer(SME) to join our data engineering team. The idealcandidate will have 810 years of handson experience in datawarehousing ETL processes and an indepth knowledge of theSnowflake cloud data platform. This rolerequires a strong background in data transformation SQL programmingand the design and optimization of complex data models to supportbusiness analytics and reporting needs. You will play a key role indesigning implementing and maintaining data solutions to ensurescalability performance and dataquality.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • SnowflakeData ModelDesign:

    • Designdevelop and optimize scalable Snowflake data models to meet ourorganization s data transformation and analyticsneeds.
    • Implement best practices forSnowflake architecture and optimize data warehouse performance toensure efficient queryexecution.
    • Develop and maintainSnowflake solutions by utilizing Snowflake features like TimeTravel Cloning and VirtualWarehouses.

  • SQLProgramming:

    • Writeefficient scalable and complex SQL queries and stored procedures toextract manipulate and transform data withinSnowflake.
    • Develop and optimizequeries for complex data transformations ensuring efficientperformance across largedatasets.
    • Collaborate with analyticsteams to create data pipelines that support various reporting andanalyticsneeds.

  • ETLPipelineDevelopment:

    • Designand implement robust ETL (Extract Transform Load) pipelines to loadstructured and unstructured data into Snowflake from multiplesources.
    • Maintain and enhanceexisting ETL workflows ensuring data integrity accuracy and timelydata delivery.
    • Collaborate with dataengineering and analytics teams to ensure data transformationprocesses meet businessrequirements.

  • DataWarehousing & BestPractices:

    • Applyadvanced data warehousing concepts such as partitioning indexingand data optimizationtechniques.
    • Implement data modelingtechniques like star schema snowflake schema and fact and dimensiontables to ensure scalable and maintainable datasolutions.
    • Perform regularperformance tuning and optimization of Snowflake tables queries andscripts to ensure efficient resourceusage.

  • PythonScripting for DataWorkflows:

    • Writedebug and maintain Python scripts (including libraries such asPandas NumPy and Matplotlib) for automating data workflows andsupporting ETL pipelines.
    • LeveragePython for integrating various data sources and performing advanceddata analysis andvisualization.

  • DataGovernance &Security:

    • Implementdata governance best practices including data security privacy andcompliance with regulatorypolicies.
    • Ensure proper dataencryption access control and audit trails in Snowflake tosafeguard sensitivedata.
    • Collaborate with securityteams to address data privacy concerns and ensure compliance withindustry standards like GDPR andHIPAA.

  • BusinessRequirementsTranslation:

    • Workclosely with business analysts and stakeholders to translatecomplex business requirements into technical specifications anddata models.
    • Understand and documentbusiness processes data requirements and reporting needs ensuringthat Snowflake solutions align with businessgoals.

  • Collaboration&Communication:

    • Collaborateeffectively with crossfunctional teams including data analysts datascientists business intelligence teams and developers to ensureseamless data operations.
    • Providetechnical mentorship to junior engineers sharing best practices andknowledge around Snowflake and data warehousingsolutions.
    • Communicate clearly andeffectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholdersexplaining complex technical concepts in simpleterms.
RequiredSkills &Qualifications:
  • SnowflakeExpertise: Extensive handson experience with theSnowflake cloud data platform including data modeling optimizationand performance tuning.
  • SQLProficiency: Advanced SQL programming skills withexperience in writing complex queries stored procedures andoptimizing SQLperformance.
  • ETLDevelopment: Proven experience in designing implementingand maintaining ETL pipelines using Snowflake and other dataintegration tools.
  • DataWarehousing Knowledge: Strong understanding of datawarehousing concepts including data modeling techniques like starschema and snowflakeschema.
  • PythonSkills: Proficiency in Python programming including usinglibraries such as Pandas NumPy and Matplotlib to support dataworkflows andautomation.
  • Data Governance& Security: Familiarity with data governancepractices security policies and regulatory compliance related todata privacy.
  • Analytical& ProblemSolving Skills: Strong analytical skillswith the ability to translate complex business requirements intotechnical specifications and efficient datasolutions.
  • Communication& Collaboration: Excellent communication skillsand the ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teamsin a fastpacedenvironment.
PreferredQualifications:
  • Experiencewith ETL Tools: Handson experience with ETL tools such asTalend Informatica or Apache NiFi for dataintegration.
  • CloudPlatforms: Experience with cloud platforms like AWS Azureor Google Cloud especially using their datarelated services (e.g.AWS Redshift AzureSynapse).
  • CI/CD &DevOps Practices: Knowledge of integrating Snowflakesolutions into CI/CD pipelines and working within DevOpsenvironments.
  • DataVisualization Tools: Familiarity with data visualizationtools such as Tableau Looker or Power BI for delivering insightsand reports tostakeholders.
