JobPurpose:

Theexperienced handson leader in this position is capable of settingup and running machine shop equipment and processes managing teamsunder their responsibility acting as a liaison between MROsuperintendents and other internal customers and Technical ServicesManagement for daytoday operations. Advising on the most efficientcosteffective and safe techniques and equipment suitable foraccomplishing desired results within given time and budgetconstraints while preserving the function of physical assetsthroughout their lifecycle is also part of the role. Leading theteam by example and sharing knowledge gained from extensiveindustry experience in machining related to Ship and/or Rig MRO aswell as supporting continuous improvement efforts within theTechnical Services team investigating root cause failures andderiving preventative and corrective actions are keyresponsibilities.

KeyAccountabilities:

• Ensuringsmooth execution of CNC and conventional machining works in thearea of responsibility including machine setup process flow andavailability of required tools and auxiliaryequipment.
• Efficient utilization of equipmentand assets production planning and execution and availability ofproper tooling.
• Manning equipment with trainedstaff to ensure sufficient workforce for tasks while minimizingexcessive idle time.
• Leading programming ofmachines setting up jobs with required jigs and holders andselecting proper inserts tools andholders.
• Developing specifications for newtools assets and consumables required for business needs as well asSOPs for existing machinery and other procedures and workinstructions.
• Managing production workflowsmonitoring equipment utilization and ensuring effective usagethroughout their lifespan. Contributing to the development of newfacilities processes and organizationalstructures.
• Supporting the Technical ServicesGeneral Manager in feasibility studies considering machine shopcapabilities international standards and clientrequirements.
• Reviewing new project statementsof work and providing feedback regarding time estimation andtooling requirements.
• Supporting TechnicalServices HSE and Inspection teams in complying with quality andsafety norms in accordance with company policy and QHSE ManagementSystem.
• General management responsibilities ofthe team in accordance with IMIs policies and applicablelaws.
• Supporting Technical Services Managementin effective recruitment selection training certification ofpersonnel performance appraisal reward and counseling of teammembers and addressing complaints and resolvingproblems.
• Working closely with the TechnicalServices HSE team to engineer out potential hazards and provide asafe working environment for allemployees.
• Staying informed of changes toapplicable international standards and communicating them torelevant departments for implementation andcompliance.
• Execution of other tasks and dutiesas assigned by Technical ServicesManagement.

Whowe are lookingfor:

• Diploma orVocational school in machining combined with requiredexperience.
• At least 15 years of experience ina similar role preferably within shipbuilding or a similarindustry.
• Professional Qualifications(Certifications & Accreditations): Milling Grinding Latheand other machining operations CAD CAM software CNC Programming (Gand Mcode) Manual editing of machineprograms.
• Deep knowledge of milling grindinglathe and other machining operations.
• Goodknowledge of CNC programming as well as manualediting.
• Practical knowledge of CAD CAMsoftware; capable of reviewing designs and advising feasibility ofmanufacturing.
• Good knowledge of machinerelatedequipment and processes (e.g. tooling inserts coolant chip removaletc.).
• Very good knowledge of metrology gaugingand related equipment.
• Drafting of requiredSOPs and other proceduraldocuments.
• Costconscious and conservative withresources.
• Excellent reportingskills.
• Ability to work underpressure.
• Proficiency in English (mandatory)Arabic or other languages(desirable).
