Over the past ten years, Shell’s Knowledge Management (KM) Programme delivered a range of KM Solutions across Shell’s Technical Functions. The programme has reached the majority of our Shell staff and generated a total value of over US$1.5Bn to date. We have an aspiration to, at least, double this by the end of 2025. We continue to develop KM capabilities in the organization, enhancing business value and driving a learner mindset creating a stronger competitive advantage for Shell. This position sits within the HR Learning & KM organisation where we work together on Knowledge and Learning solutions for Shell. HR Learning & KM aims to be the single provider of the best possible knowledge, content, and learning across Shell for the best impact. It is a recently transformed organisation which is set up to manage the global portfolio of learning and KM content, to diagnose and translate business needs into world-class learning and KM solutions, and to deliver those solutions proximate to the business where needed. HR Learning & KM plays a crucial role in enabling Shell and our partners to learn, adapt and perform faster than our competitors in an increasingly volatile environment and will equip the wider organisation with the skills needed to thrive in the energy transition.Where you fit inTo achieve our target, KM will have to embed and integrate its current and future solutions further into the core business processes within Shell. This is crucial for the business and KM to be successful as it will allow faster access to knowledge and at the right moment of need.The role of the Advisor KM within the assigned portfolio(s) is tasked with growing KM and its capabilities within this portfolio effectively and, through that, help the business with faster knowledge dissemination, decision making and collaboration. Additionally, this role will play an important part in the further integration of Knowledge and Learning content as these will be further offered as one solution to the business. The business interface for this role will play a key part in creating the awareness and support for the business.The Advisor KM will join the Knowledge Management team as part of the Learning & KM organization and will have a strong relationship with the portfolio learning teams. as well as focal points in the business. Together this group will drive the valuation of knowledge in the business.Reports to: Head of KMKey Accountabilities•The Advisor KM role will report to the Head of Knowledge Management and its purpose is to advise the designated business portfolio(s) on how to create value through knowledge management. In line with the overall KM strategy this could encompass solution implementation, designing adoption interventions, delivering usage and implementation progress feedback to (senior) stakeholders. •Daily activities include tasks like: •Proactively search for opportunities in knowledge interventions using a pipeline of opportunities•Support the building and activation of communities of practice and knowledge networks (i.e. Focals, Moderators, Practitioners, Leaders, etc.) within the portfolio(s) that promotes the increased use of the KM capabilities and solutions like best practice sharing and collaboration within communities of practice •(Pro-)active partnering and collaborating with the KM team to identify, vet and adapt best possible knowledge solution(s) together. This includes escalating end-user feedback and enhancement requests, identifying competing solutions, and recognizing opportunities and triggers to integrate knowledge in the Flow of Work•Identify, act and deliver on key metrics, champion success stories and use cases where KM has created and enhanced value for the company•Additional tasks are:•Supporting the further integration of knowledge/learning solutions and consulting the business stakeholders on the KM best practices and (future) solutions regarding synergies between Learning and KM content and processes•Collaborate and consult with Heads of Learning Managers/Learning Advisors to shape the integrated KM/Learning approach (i.e. Flow of Work) to enable the broader HR Learning and KM agenda and business performance in each LoB / country who support that functionKey Skills•Ability to drive for results by building credibility and relationships with staff at all levels, including senior business leaders as well as with the HR Learning advisors , to promote the KM solutions and benefits• The ability to ask questions, determine stakeholders needs, both strategically and operationally, and maintain partnering and productive relationships during engagements, including influencing, communicating, presenting, facilitating, and managing new relationships•A continuous improvement mindset, identifying and implementing business opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of the KM services•Ability to design and lead change interventions, and coach others on behaviours and actions to support change•Ability to translate deployment strategies into tangible KM benefits for the business•Substantial understanding of Knowledge Management theory, practice and tools •Exposure and experience in working across businesses, functions and regions•Experience in several of the Shell portfolio communities bringing a mature level of business intimacy is preferable•Bringing a Learner Mindset, a curiosity to learn and grow yourself, learn from mistakes and a commitment to create an environment where people can speak up openly in a safe environmentFlexible working arrangements (including part-time working) are supported where feasible, and are subject to applicable local policies, regulations and legislative frameworks.
