Job Overview


We are seeking a dynamic and empathetic Student Counselor to join our team at Afynd Pvt. Ltd. As a Student Counselor, you will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and counseling to students to help them navigate their academic and personal lives. This is a full-time position based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, and is suitable for individuals with less than 1 year of experience.


Qualifications and Skills


  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and empathize with students.
  • Knowledge of counseling theories, techniques, and interventions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of students, parents, and professionals.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and educational software.
  • Experience working with students or in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Passion for supporting students' holistic development and well-being.
  • Familiarity with local education policies and resources.


Roles and Responsibilities


  • Provide counseling and support services to students in various areas such as academic performance, career planning, and personal development.
  • Assist students in identifying and overcoming academic challenges, helping them develop effective study skills and learning strategies.
  • Guide students in setting and achieving academic and personal goals, providing them with the necessary resources and support.
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' emotional and psychological concerns.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Stay updated on educational trends, policies, and resources to provide relevant information to students.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records, documenting counseling sessions and progress.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and workshops to enhance counseling skills.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of student support programs and initiatives.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture, fostering student engagement and well-being.
