Location:  Remote Job

Requirements

We are seeking a seasoned Database Developer with extensive experience in database applications, data warehousing (DW), ETL processes, and business intelligence (BI) solutions. The ideal candidate will have a robust technical background in SQL Server, coupled with strong communication and team management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Database Development & Management:

    • Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases to support application requirements.
    • Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and query tuning.
    • Implement and manage database security protocols and backup strategies.

  2. Data Warehousing & ETL:

    • Lead the design and implementation of data warehousing solutions, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
    • Develop and optimize ETL processes using tools such as SSIS to facilitate data transformation and loading.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

  3. Business Intelligence Solutions:

    • Design and develop BI solutions, including reports and dashboards, using tools like Power BI or SSRS.
    • Analyze complex data sets to derive insights and support decision-making processes.
    • Stay current with industry trends and tools to enhance BI capabilities.

  4. Team Leadership & Communication:

    • Manage and mentor junior database developers and analysts, fostering a collaborative team environment.
    • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
    • Present technical information to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in database applications, DW, ETL, and BI.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with SQL Server (development, support, and delivery).
  • Proficient in SQL and T-SQL programming.
  • Experience with ETL tools, preferably SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and projects effectively.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of cloud databases (e.g., Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS).
  • Experience with NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and database design principles.
