Responsibilities

Job Location - Gurgaon/Hyderabad

Principal DevOps Engineer The Principal DevOps Engineer automates software builds, test and deployment systems, and infrastructure as code. DevOps Engineers manage various development, test, staging, and demo environments (code deployment using Continuous Improvement (CI)/Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines, backups, data refreshes), as well as deploy and manage software into PepsiCo’s production environment while leveraging as much automation as possible. They are responsible for continually advancing the technology in a collaborative and creative agile environment using many of the latest technologies and industry best practices and finding better and more efficient ways of delivering solutions that meet business objectives.

The candidate in this role will provide technical oversight and direction to our software development team to ensure we deliver the best possible DevOps solutions and ensure they are generating value through cost savings or incremental value. This candidate will work closely with development teams and process engineering teams and deliver solutions across S&T core priorities.

Role Responsibilities: 1. Technical Leadership: Set the example in driving individual user stories to completion from start to finish. Assess and identify risks that may be present to achieving the team’s larger goals. Document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.2. Collaborate/Partner: Work in tandem with our engineering teams and leaders to identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions for the company.3. Quality & Security Focused: Drive implementation of functionally appropriate and technically sound solutions meeting all quality & security standards.4. Continuous Improvement: Assist the team in achieving ambitious goals, providing regular feedback, and driving continuous improvement. You will participate in all aspects of our software development lifecycle for cloud-based solutions, including planning, defining requirements, developing, and testing those solutions with the team.

Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field. Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering preferred. Proven track record for delivering fit for purpose technical solutions balancing complexity, performance, and maintainability. A balanced approach between Software Engineering principles and modern Infrastructure Operations. Automation orchestration tooling such as Azure DevOps (ADO), GitHub Enterprise, or Gitlab. Infrastructure automation tooling such as Terraform and Crossplane. CI/CD best practices and implementation. Azure infrastructure and cloud-native services. Experience with mission critical, 24x7 systems. Experience with high throughput cloud native distributed systems.

Technical Skills

Powershell, Bash, Python, and/or Golang development Supporting Java (Core & Framework), , and Golang applications Containers (Windows and Linux) Kubernetes Database automation & administration Cloud cost management & automation Network/Cloud security core concepts and tooling AppSec/DevSecOps tooling Automated software testing (unit, component, API, functional) GitOps methodologies Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong relationship, collaborative, and organization skill
