Overviewof the roleThis position willplay a vital role in undertaking and implementing research studiesand be a part of the growing team at Rocket Learning. The workrequires a strong research understanding especially in monitoring& evaluation designs and methodologies interviewingtechniques and qualitative and quantitative analytical skills. Theideal candidate will have experience in education research stronganalytical and project management skills and a passion forimproving early childhood education outcomes inIndia.
JobResponsibilitiesThe candidatewill perform the following keyfunctions:
  • Lead multiple complexresearch projects including Randomized Control trials(RCTs)
  • QuasiExperimental studies largescalesurveys etc.
  • Support Research and M&Elead in overseeing the development and implementation of researchand
  • M&E plans and strategies acrossmultiple programs or projects.
  • Ensure thequality and relevance of research and M&E data andreports.
  • Ensure the research projects adhere torigorous research design sample selectiondata
  • management general research protocols andoverall project management timelines.
  • Lead thecreation of highquality research and M&E products (reportspresentations infographics briefs etc.)
  • Liaisewith external stakeholders such as donors partners and governmentagencies on research and M&Easpects.
  • Manage budgets and resources for theResearch and M&Eprojects.

QualificationandCompetencies
  • Master sdegree in Economics Public Policy Social Science or other relatedfields
  • 58 years of professional work experiencein the research and monitoring & evaluation (M&E)domain at a development/ management consulting firm researchinstitute/ firm/ public policy think tank NGO or bilateral/multilateral agency.
  • Experience working insocial and development research managing largescale surveysconducting baseline/end line surveys policy reviews and impactevaluations.
  • Knowledge and experience inqualitative and quantitative research primary and secondaryresearch sampling techniques and data analysis using statisticalsoftware such as STATA R Python. Prior experience in using STATAfor data analysis is mandatory.
  • Excellentwriting and presentation skills are a core requirement of theposition. Candidate must be able to express ideas clearly andconcisely. Prior experience in writing reports creating clientpresentations and publishing research papers ismandatory.
  • Prior experience in digitizingquantitative questionnaires onSurveyCTO is highlypreferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in ateam environment and build strong relationships with colleagues andexternal partners.
  • Attention to detail andexcellent time management.
  • Knowledge of earlychildhood education (ECE) in India and the challenges andopportunities in the sector isdesired.
  • Willingness to travel to the field forproject andmanagement.
