Associate Director -Hardware Development
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Hardware Development team. The successful candidate will oversee the design, development, and testing of our hardware products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance. This role requires strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a strategic mindset to drive innovation and maintain our competitive edge in the industry.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of hardware engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Manage team workloads, set priorities, and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and objectives Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.Project Management
Oversee the entire hardware development lifecycle from concept to production, including design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing. Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, product management, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.Technical Expertise
Provide technical guidance and support to the hardware development team, resolving complex engineering challenges and ensuring best practices are followed. Review and approve design specifications, schematics, and PCB layouts to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal requirements. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in hardware technology and incorporate relevant innovations into product development.Quality Assurance
Implement rigorous testing and validation procedures to ensure the reliability, performance, and safety of hardware products. Identify and address potential risks and issues throughout the development process, implementing corrective actions as necessary. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to develop and execute comprehensive test plans.Stakeholder Communication
Communicate project status, milestones, and risks to senior management and other stakeholders. Work closely with product management to define hardware product requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Represent the hardware development team in meetings with clients, partners, and vendors.Responsibilities
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in hardware development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role. Proven track record of successfully managing hardware development projects from concept to production. Strong technical background in hardware design, including experience with PCB design, embedded systems, and hardware testing. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of engineers. Strong project management skills, with experience using project management tools and methodologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Experience with regulatory compliance and industry standards related to hardware development.Preferred Skills
Experience in the warehouse industry Knowledge of firmware development and integration with hardware. Familiarity with agile development methodologies. Experience working with international teamsWHY GO WITH GREYORANGE?
