The Role: At Morningstar, helping investors is what brings us together and drives our work. EDP is looking for Senior Automation Engineers (similar to Software Development Engineer in Test) who specializes in backend (python script, Java, selenium, API, and Non-Functional testing) to join our team, grow with us, introduce us to new ideas and develop products that empower our users. Every day, you will work with team members across disciplines and geographic locations, developing products for investors. You will interact daily with our product managers to understand our domain and create technical solutions that push us forward. We want to work with other engineers who bring knowledge and excitement about our opportunities. This position is based in our Mumbai office.

Responsibilities:

Define and establish automation strategy and process on the product you would be working on Understand product landscape and help customize existing automation testing framework Should understand the requirement, design, and develop the automation test cases Take ownership of QA requirements and provide testing guidance to the technology team Should also work as Individual Contributor Coordinate the application enhancement and tech ops testing activities with technology and business teams Participate in team communication and collaborate in planning activities, including stand-ups, sprint planning meetings and retrospectives. Communicate regular updates on project status (e.g., work completed, work in progress, next steps, risks, quality etc.) to stakeholders, peers, Product managers and others.

Requirements:

Overall experience of 5+ years in Quality Assurance and Testing with relevant hands on experience in Automation Strong hands-on experience in Automated Testing of backend application and building Automation framework Strong know-how in Java or Python as programming language Exposure and know-how of performance testing and security testing tools Should be self-driven engineer with desire to use practical and professional concepts in QA along with application of QA standards and procedures to resolve routine issues Should be able to write test cases based on product requirements, execute them and report issues Should be self-starter and self-contributing to the QA team to build robust and flexible Automated Testing Framework Integrate test automation into CI/CD process and instrument full SDLC automation Improve process and quality via test and process automation: defining right strategy and technology based on process and architecture assessment by engaging different roles and stakeholders

Good to Have:

Knowledge of Amazon Web Services or any other cloud technologies would be a plus Financial and investing knowledge is a big plus Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology - Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields is required.
