Position Overview:

The Payroll Tax Compliance Analyst is a cross functional position responsible for verification of national payroll tax calculations, benefit calculations, and new project payroll implementation (domestic and international). The position calls for strong people skills and the ability to prioritize instructions from multiple departments.  The position will work closely with other payroll tax members, state tax offices, payroll, change control, and human resources.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed analysis and quarterly/yearly reconciliation of payroll tax balances and payments made/due.
  • Audits of federal, state, and local income tax returns, state unemployment tax returns, and prior quarter/yearend adjustments.
  • Work with payroll and change control to ensure payroll tax calculation are compliant with local, federal, and state regulations.
  • Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Audits of international payroll taxes and year end forms.
  • Audit of international tax calculations.
  • Maintain all state unemployment rate information and communication of rate updates to our tax vendor and all payrolls as applicable.
  • Review and respond to general ledger balance inquiries for payroll tax accounts.
  • Setup of new tax general ledger accounts.
  • Provide Telework analysis to ensure compliancy with business registrations including taxes and workers compensation.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) from an accredited institution and 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll accounting, benefits accounting and statutory compliance with focus on global operations.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform research, analysis, reconciliations, and critical thinking skills for offering solutions to unique tax scenarios.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have legal right to work in New Delhi, India without sponsorship.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English at an intermediate proficiency level

 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with SAP HCM and expatriate payrolls.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel’s general ledger and chart of accounts.
  • US and Expatriate Tax Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Telework Regulations
