Job Purpose:
The Tax Specialist assists in local tax compliance and controversy for WBD’s business units in Asia Pacific; prepares the internal US tax reporting documents; and is responsible for the withholding tax processes.
Job Responsibilities:
1) Internal US Tax Reporting :
Prepare quarterly and year-end tax packages, provision calculation, cash tax forecast, and other supporting schedules2) Asia Pacific Tax Compliance and Controversy:
Manage tax filing deadline and prepare/review annual tax returns for Asia Pacific countries Prepare/review the response letters to tax authorities’ enquiry letter for Asia Pacific countries Work with external tax advisers on tax audits3) Withholding tax supporting activities:
Prepare/review withholding tax returns for Warner Media entities in Asia Pacific Assist in handling processes for tax treaty forms, lower withholding tax rate applications, residency certificates, and cross-broader remittances Co-ordinate and assist in handling the withholding tax certificates request/queries from various third-party vendors in Asia Pacific Co-ordinate, liaise, collect and review the foreign withholding tax receipts received from third-party customers in Asia Pacific for United States foreign tax credit claim purposes4) Other duties
Collaborate with various stakeholders (Finance, legal, corp sec, etc.) to obtain information and ensure proper documentation to support the positions taken in the Returns lodged including tax audit repliesRequired Experience, Qualifications & Skill Set:
Work Experience
Experience in Asia Pacific regional tax, preferably in Big 4 accounting firms and/or large (preferably US-based) multi-national corporations 2-4 years of experienceEducation, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification
Degree or equivalent experience in accounting or law CPA, ACA or ACCA qualificationKnowledge/Skills
Fluent in English verbal and written communication skills Above average skills in numerical and organizational skillsOther Requirements
Broad knowledge and experience in developing excellent business relationships with a wide variety of talented people across cultures, countries and time zonesHow We Get Things Done…
