Senior Lead Engineer

Overview:

The Avionics Advanced Systems and Architecture (ASA) / Advanced Technology (AT) Team is working to enable future-readiness of Avionics through development of high quality, trusted solutions using a common framework, strong product line behaviors and a robust digital development environment to accelerate technology advancements and capability deployment. We are focused on leveraging core products and technologies to develop differentiated aircraft capabilities enabling autonomous operations, while driving efficiencies, best practices and consistent processes across Avionics We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is ready to perform the role of a Senior Principal Engineer as part of the ASA/AT team.

Responsibilities

Develop & deploy a product line framework to enable more rapid innovation and implementation of capabilities and solutions. Facilitate transition of technology development to product lines. Implement middleware software elements - platform & hardware agnostic services & libraries, enabling functional software reuse & faster development. Build and deploy DevOps pipelines in Avionics applications development. Work with the Avionics teams on the tools & processes they should use to develop & deploy new content. Build a high-fidelity virtual integration and verification environment, possibly in cloud infrastructure, for faster test development, and parallel, faster-than-real-time execution. Evaluate possible virtual environments and their ability to meet the requirements. Experience in development and certifying DO178B/C based software applications at high criticality levels is desired. Hands on experience in developing middleware and platform software for safety-critical real-time embedded software. Experience in developing and deploying DevOps/CI-CD pipelines is preferred. Experience in developing simulation and/or virtual environments is preferred. Experience in cloud-based software development will be a plus. Actively participate in a global team environment, working with verification, architecture, applications, and design teams. Own and drive development activities, provide technical support, and proactively manage tasks to meet schedule goals. Support the cognizant manager in building a highly capable and competent team. Guiding and mentoring junior engineers. Must be ready for travel to abroad on a need basis.

Qualifications

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering (CSE, ECE or equivalent) 8+ years of Industry experience in development, integration & verification of Avionics platforms and applications.
