•General Summary

Dat Engineer (BI developer) is responsible to analyze, provide specifications for, and develops reports and dashboards for end user consumption. This role requires expertise with business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Power Platform tools (Primary), Microsoft BI stack (e.g., SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS), Tibco Spotfire (Secondary - Knowledge), Tibco Data Virtualization etc.

Develop prototypes and solutions leveraging a diverse range of technology. Should be flexible to work on Power Platform Admin activities. Apply modern principles, methodologies, tools, and systemic processes to support the launch of new business capabilities. The ideal candidate should have the ability to understand and quickly learn new and evolving cloud technologies. Candidate should have worked in agile projects and having relevant certifications will be added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with architects, data engineers, and business users to define, build, and deliver solutions to most challenging upstream business problems.

  • Implement, deploy, and support analytics solutions with a focus on development of Power BI solution along with other components in Power Platform.

  • Support development or maintenance needs of Spotfire reports/dashboards.

  • Continue to learn and share analytics solutions best practices with team members.

  • Create logical, unified data views across disparate data sources and tailor it to suit analytical needs.

  • Point of contact for higher level or complex issues and will work with senior levels for resolution.

  • Support production deployments, production incidents as required in project.

  • This position is full-time and may require after hours support for critical business needs.

Skills & Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and over all 4-6 years of IT experience and 3+ years of relevant Power BI experience.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Proficient in Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate and other BI tools.

  • Proficient in Python, Unix scripts.

  • Experience with configuring and administering Power BI will be added advantage.

  • Working knowledge of Tibco Spotfire, Tibco Data Virtualization will be added advantage.

  • Working knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server. Experience with SQL development and optimization.

  • Experience in data modeling, row level security, access control of Power BI reports with interfacing applications.

  • Working Knowledge of HTML, Java Script, CSS programming

  • Independently designs and plans BI solutions, as well as debugs, monitors, and troubleshoots BI solutions.

  • Experience in writing relational and multidimensional database queries.

  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.

  • Forms productive relationships with customers by listening, clarifying, and responding effectively.

  • Exercises good judgment and understanding of dependencies across multiple projects.

  • Participates on project teams as a key contributor.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic understanding of and willingness to learn and adopt professional and industry standards.

  • Responsible for relationship with vendors and opening and coordinating issues with vendors.

  • Responsible for writing fundamental documentation in a clear, concise manner, adhering to standards.

  • Customer service driven and strong team player.

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.

  • Willingness to work with required time overlap with distributed teams for important meetings, discussions, and reaching out to key stakeholders.

  • Able to work under pressure, demanding situations, producing high quality deliverables while meeting delivery dates.

  • Must be a motivated, forward-thinking individual who is able to work with minimal supervision.
