We are looking for a Shipping ManagementTrainee for a well established shipping startup having offices inMumbai Singapore andDubai.
JobProfile:Get trained toperform a key role in global charteringnamelyTo be responsible for all theactivities associated with the chartering of vessels and managementof contract cargoes as well as all necessary liaison with postfixture operational functions of the respective duties entrusted tohim/her and vessel management of BulkCarriers.To ensure that the vessels that areunder his/her responsibility (whether owned or managed) aregainfully employed at all times and that the returns on the companys resources are maximized given the marketconditions.Responsible for formulatingannual business plan for the company including new vesselsacquisition.Responsible to undertake predeal commercial operational & legal riskanalysis.To be responsible for continuouslymonitoring the developments in the shipping industry and takingadvantage of attractive trading opportunities as theyemerge.To develop and maintain excellentworking relationship with the market participants (brokers ownersoperators shippers receivers and freight traders) so that thecompany is strategically positioned to take advantage ofopportunities as they emerge.To ensure thatnegotiations leading to contracts are done in the best interests ofthe company and that the company s risk exposure is minimized asmuch as possible.To be responsible for thedrawing up income budgets for the respective vessels under his/hercare and ensure that the best efforts are expended in trying toachieve these budgets / VoyageEstimations.Quarterly periodic performancereviews of vessels under his/her responsibility are to be conductedand revisions to the budget are made where necessary inconsultation with the Director CommercialDivision.To Liaise with Post Fixture staffto ensure all operational procedures are adhered to and all moniesdue from charters are obtained accurately on a timely basis andassist in the recovery if necessary.Toensure & supervise that all payments with regard tobrokerage commission charter hire for chartered in vessels claimsetc are accurate and that they represent the minimum requirementfor a amicablesettlement
