KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute lean vision and strategy by serving as a champion of facility initiatives that deliver continuous improvement, culture transformation, waste reduction and/or cost savings, machine up-time, etc
- Track and report key metrics on improvement activities
- Deploy the lean strategy, monitor results and report progress including for roadmap projects cost savings
- Maintain suitable affiliations and participate in professional development activities (internal & external to Imerys) that foster continuous learning and also supports the lean position requirements
- Provide lean employee training and facilitate correct use of lean tools
- Apply process improvement best practices/techniques, lean manufacturing techniques and project management skills in a structured project environment.
- Lead and facilitate Lean initiatives that foster process and product innovation.
- Coordinate the promotion of small group activities for process improvement, equipment improvement, quality improvement, etc.
- Serve as a mentor and coach for the development of Continuous Improvement steering team within the site and departments.
- Support leaders with follow-up implementation of improvements and new operating standards and control mechanisms.
- Act as a methodology advisor to various business unit leaders, also with support available from the ICube global/regional network.
- Support operations with the deployment of various Lean Manufacturing techniques, including but not limited to, 5S, Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, SMED, and Kaizen events.
- Identify and implement training, education, coaching and mentoring of plant personnel in Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
- Assist the business in the development and maintenance of Strategy Deployment tools.
- Support and drive a culture where the business will achieve best in class status through the implementation of best practices and benchmarking activities.
- Drive improvement efforts through Statistical Process Control and problem solving methodologies such as Design of Experiments, Root Cause Analysis, Process Mapping, DMAIC, and FMEA.
- Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, and/ or Director of Manufacturing.
· Perform tasks/duties related to special projects or assignments
OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS
Act as a project leader for small projects when required
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Bachelor Degree in Operations or Mechanical or Chemical Engineering discipline
3+ years experience in Lean Manufacturing Industry
