- Project Planning and Coordination:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, defining the scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with internal teams, supplier/ executers, and external consultants to develop detailed schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Organize kick-off meetings and ensure all stakeholders are aligned with project objectives.
- Lead the development and review of all design and construction documents, ensuring they align with project goals and specifications.
- Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team consisting of civil engineers, architects, project managers, foremen, subcontractors, and site workers.
- Ensure efficient delegation of tasks, project milestones, and daily operations for all project team members.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and project staff to build a strong team culture.
- Conduct regular project meetings to review progress, resolve issues, and ensure smooth coordination across teams.
- Develop and monitor the project budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
- Review and approve procurement plans, contract agreements, and material ordering processes.
- Track and report project expenses, implementing cost-control measures to prevent overruns.
- Manage the preparation of financial reports, including cash flows and forecasts, and ensure transparency with stakeholders.
- Identify potential risks (technical, financial, environmental, safety, etc.) and implement risk management strategies to mitigate them.
- Quickly address unforeseen issues and obstacles, making necessary adjustments to ensure the project remains on track.
- Handle conflicts, disputes, or legal issues between contractors, s, and other stakeholders.
- Continuously assess and update the project risk register to reflect changing conditions.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental, zoning, and safety codes.
- Establish quality assurance protocols, ensuring all construction works meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Oversee regular quality checks, audits, and site inspections to ensure construction work aligns with project specifications and standards.
- Ensure all construction materials and methods comply with approved plans and contract specifications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between s, contractors, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates to s and senior management on the project's progress, any potential issues, and proposed solutions.
- Negotiate and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other third-party vendors.
- Coordinate and conduct presentations, status reports, and site visits with key stakeholders.
- Oversee the proper documentation of all project-related information, including contracts, changes, approvals, permits, and safety records.
- Prepare detailed project reports, outlining progress, risks, and deviations from the original plan.
- Ensure that all records are archived correctly for future reference, legal purposes, and post-project evaluations.
- Ensure timely submission of required documentation to s, regulatory bodies, and other authorities.
- Enforce strict safety protocols on the construction site, ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines.
- Implement emergency response plans and ensure safety drills are conducted regularly.
- Promote environmental sustainability by adopting green practices in materials usage, waste disposal, and energy efficiency.
- Ensure all punch list items and final inspections are completed before project close-out.
- Organize and oversee final handover of the project to the, ensuring all documentation (such as as-built drawings and warranties) is provided.
- Conduct a project review meeting with stakeholders to assess project performance and identify lessons learned.
Requirements
- Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED) will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or project management role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects, ideally in infrastructure, residential, or commercial sectors.
- Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing and motivating cross-functional teams.
- Expertise in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, AutoCAD, Revit).
- Advanced understanding of construction processes, materials, equipment, and legal requirements.
- Exceptional problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring deadlines are met.
