Your Team
Step into a critical role as Technology Risk Steward, a pivotal position at the confluence of technology, data, and operational excellence. This role is a cornerstone in supporting operational risk and providing expert interpretation and application of policy, risk appetite, and local assessment of the adequacy of risk management activities in the First Line of Defence (1LOD) for operational risk.

Your Role

You will coordinate activities aligned to Invesco's Operational Risk taxonomy, and work with the relevant Risk Owner(s) to analyze risk inputs and manage risks accordingly.

You will provide comprehensive oversight of all dimensions of technology risk and regulatory compliance within Invesco. Collaborating closely with multi-functional teams, you will ensure that our technology processes align seamlessly with industry standards and best methods. Your role encompasses the assessment, mitigation, and reporting of technology risks, along with the implementation and supervision of controls to fortify a secure and compliant technology landscape.



You Will Be Responsible For:
Regulatory Compliance : Uphold Invesco’s technology operations to the highest standards of industry regulations, ensuring ongoing compliance through vigilant monitoring and proactive adaptation to regulatory changes.

Strategy: Contribute to the development and execution of a robust technology risk framework that harmonizes with Invesco’s business objectives and growth initiatives.

Risk Assessment : Lead the identification, assessment, and prioritization of technology-related risks, spanning cybersecurity, data privacy, and operational risks. Develop and coordinate risk mitigation strategies and action plans.

Risk Mitigation : Coordinate the implementation and supervision of technology risk mitigation measures, including security controls, disaster recovery plans, and incident response procedures.

Risk Monitoring: Regularly supervise, review, and reassess risks and controls to ensure their ongoing efficiency in safeguarding our technology environment.

Audit and Assessment: Coordinate and actively participate in technology audits and self-assessments (RCSA) to evaluate the efficacy of controls and compliance measures. Address findings and drive improvements.

Training and Awareness : Champion technology risk awareness by delivering impactful training to employees and partners, ensuring a collective understanding of their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a secure and compliant environment.

Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership and collaborators, providing insights into technology risk assessments, regulatory compliance status, and ongoing risk mitigation efforts.

The Experience You Bring:

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or technical field is helpful. Minimum of 10+ years of technology audit, information security, risk & controls experience working in corporate technology, Big 4, and/or Consulting roles. Solid understanding of methods used to perform risk analysis, risk assessments, control assessments, vulnerability assessments, and audit management. Familiarity with standards and frameworks, such as CObIT, COSO, ITIL, ISO27000, NIST etc. and ability to apply to a Technology environment Financial Services experience a key advantage Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and prioritize risks optimally. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, collaborating with colleagues at all levels and articulating complex issues to non-technical partners. Project management and leadership skills to guide and empower teams in implementing effective risk management strategies. Unwavering dedication to staying ahead of evolving technology risks and regulatory changes.
