About the Role:
We are hiring on behalf of a leading fintech client that is revolutionizing digital credit solutions, making finance more accessible and efficient. This client is dedicated to creating seamless, secure, and scalable financial products that support millions of transactions. As the Senior Director of Engineering, you will lead and shape the technical vision, drive large-scale architectural decisions, and oversee a team that builds high-impact, user-centric financial technology.
Position: Senior Director of Engineering - Fintech (80% management | 20% Technical)
Experience Required: 10 to 16 years
Location: Mumbai
Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Leadership: Define and execute the engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with the business objectives and fintech industry standards.
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.
  • Architecture Oversight: Guide architectural and infrastructure decisions, particularly on AWS, utilizing services such as EC2, RDS, S3, and Lambda.
  • Product Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, and Data Science, to drive and deliver complex fintech solutions.
  • Frontend & Backend Oversight: Oversee both backend (e.g., Java, Python preferred) and frontend (JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, Vue) development to ensure a seamless, robust user experience.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure that engineering practices adhere to security protocols, data privacy standards, and compliance requirements in fintech.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, performance optimizations, and staying ahead of technology trends in the fintech landscape.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience: 10 years in software engineering with a significant focus on technical leadership and team management in fintech.
  • AWS Expertise: Proven track record of deploying and managing solutions on AWS, with deep knowledge of services architecture.
  • Backend & Frontend Proficiency: Strong expertise in backend languages (e.g., Java, C++), with Python preferred but not mandatory, and frontend proficiency with JavaScript frameworks.
  • Fintech Domain Knowledge: Extensive experience in the fintech industry, with a deep understanding of industry trends, regulatory compliance, and security requirements.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a technical team, fostering a culture of growth and innovation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of the regulatory landscape and compliance standards relevant to fintech.
