The Position
As a Operational Specialist I at Novo Nordisk, responsible for defining, building, and operating VMware, Windows Server, clients, and desktop remote infrastructure management services.The role involves proactive engagement with IT architects, IT specialists, and stakeholders across product supply, including production facilities and datacentres worldwide, to enhance awareness of technical deliveries related to IT infrastructure and IT security support services, ensuring they meet business expectations. This role bridges the gap between stakeholder requirements, product supply and global IT project teams, and IT vendors, ensuring efficient delivery of IT infrastructure support and services. It demands strong technical expertise, effective stakeholder and vendor management, and excellent communication skills, with proven experience and extensive IT infrastructure technical knowledge. High-quality delivery, user focus, and innovative initiatives are key aspects of the job. 

You will be entrusted with the below responsibilities:

  • Define, build and operate the VMware, Windows Server, Clients and Desktop remote Infrastructure management services and provide Technical operational support globally for PSnet (Product Supply IT) in Novo Nordisk.
  • Perform Incident, Change and Problem Management in alignment with scaled Agile framework as a delivery team member.
  • Perform the role of a Technical consultant during Major Incident and Critical outages for PSnet VMware Infrastructure issues reported globally.
  • Enable fast and optimal project execution according to roll-out plans and ensuring best possible operation and maintenance.
  • Ensure a standardised platform worldwide in Product Supply and to establish strong relationship with stakeholders, end users, Service owners and IT suppliers.
  • Manage Daily operations & Technical support in the IT Infrastructure area for PSnet. Manage the IT Infrastructure, audits and compliance levels as per Novo Nordisk norms.
  • Manage and liaise with the IT Infrastructure vendors providing VMware Infrastructure services across Psnet.

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree or similar graduate degree 10+ years of experience IT infrastructure operations and technical services.
  • Solid understanding of Wintel Infrastructure, VMware platform, Windows servers and Clients.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server Administration and failover clustering, Physical and Virtual Desktop (VDI) environments, SCOM, SCCM and Virtualization platforms.
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure and IT Security standards (like National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
  • Good to have on Knowledge of Power-shell scripting and Python.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, Active directory(AD),Network Time Protocol (NTP), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), group policies and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). 
  • Ability to support automation, cloud qualification and brand-new IT implementations.
  • Preferred to have Industry recognized ITIL and ISO quality management certification.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and comfortable working with different cultures.
  • Good to have worked in Agile set and some hand-on practise on tools like ADO (ActiveX Data Objects).

The position is based in the Production Infrastructure (PI) area, which is part of Global IT Operations (GITO). GITO is a department with 400+ employees distributed across more than 25 countries, managing IT Infra compliance, Cloud Services, Infrastructure Services, Operations, IT Support, Major Incident Management, and Digital Workplace Services. The Production Infrastructure is a global team of highly skilled and dedicated employees, supporting production sites infrastructure services across the globe.
