Embedded SW Development Engineer

Mandatory Skills: C Version 17 and Linux

Job Description

Responsible fordesigning developing and testing Embedded Software Firmwareplatforms and systems that control and runs on devices that need tobe tailored to the needs of the hardware that it controls and runon Typically requires a deep understanding of the characteristicsof the physical device being controlled the realtime functions itis expected to perform and the ability to design develop implementand test the logic and software required to realize the realtimefunctionality Executes standard operational technical taskstypically subject to instructions and work routines

As part of a multideveloper firmware team the majorresponsibilities will include analysis design implementation andtesting of firmware for Distribution and Industrial product lineEmbedded SW Development Engineer will report to the SeniorEngineering Manager Embedded SW Development

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design develops implement and debug embedded softwareandor firmware features set of features for a small module or alarge component of entire embedded software product
  • Integrate software packages with existing systems andsubsystems
  • Interact with a multidisciplineengineering team to meet the project requirements throughout itslife cycle
  • Prepare formal and informalengineering documentation eg Design documents code reviews Releasereports etc
  • Engages in technical discussionsparticipates in technical designs and presents technical ideasthrough white boarding
  • Works closely withpeers and keeps engaging in a fast pace technical design anddevelopment team
  • Executes in a fastpaceddelivery mode and focuses in delivering tasks to meet the productrelease goal
  • Maintains code quality throughbest practices code reviews and unit testing
  • Follows Agile process maintains code quality through bestpractices code reviews and unit testing
  • Perform daytoday activities using git Confluence andJira

RequiredQualifications

  • Bachelors Degree inComputer Science Electrical Engineering or ElectronicsEngineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of embeddeddevelopment experience
  • Hands on C17programming skills and understanding of objectoriented design anddevelopment
  • Hands on experience on Linuxincluding kernel drivers system docker and bash
  • Exposure to modern development environments includingyocto build systems CICD and automated software unittesting
  • Experience in application firmwaredevelopment
  • Well familiar with HWSWinterfacing and realtime design consideration
  • Handson experience with using JiraGitGithub
  • Familiar with Agile SW development practices
  • Strong initiative and communication skills
