JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for development of new products, redesigns of existing products and general laboratory testing for proof of concept and evaluation testing as assigned. Includes new product design, rationalization of existing product lines, redesign for cost reductions or product standardization and product line expansions.

  PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE) activities as related to addressing existing product designs. Identify opportunities to take cost out of existing designs. Understand the feature and price balance for the markets to determine appropriate design rules. Ability and experience to create and support engineering specifications and configuration management. Create, maintain, and update performance validation testing plans and protocols based on a specific product specification. Perform engineering calculations required to accurately determine product size, capacity, and performance to meet required design parameters based on a product specification. Facilitate development of project plans with assistance from Sales & Marketing, Order Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering. Manage all projects within scope of responsibility to desired deadlines and Product Specifications. Provide realistic, accurate development cost estimates for design projects and finished products. Working with Design and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure new / re - designs are optimized for manufacturability and fitment of final product assembly.

  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Efficient in data analysis and correlation using MS Excel or other software tools. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must have ability/experience in reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and laboratory test programs. Efficient in reading, comprehending, and writing technical reports and correspondence. Ability/experience in reading & applying GD&T in preparing manufacturing drawings. Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Proficient in CAD, PDM, and ERP tools. AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Vault and SAP are preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of B. E/ in Mechanical Engineering. 5-7 years of experience in Product engineering environment of rotary equipment’s like Pumps, Blenders, Gearbox etc. Experience with Mixers / Agitators preferred. Must have prior experience in mechanical selection calculations on General engineering. [Not translated in selected language]
