Job Title: Health and SafetyOfficer(HSE)Location:Taloja Raigad NaviMumbaiJob Type:FulltimeJobDescription: The SafetyOfficer will play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe workingenvironment for employees contractors and visitors. This positionencompasses the responsibilities of implementing safety protocolsand overseeing regulatory compliance with a focus on both hot workpermits and the annual returnsubmission forMCBwaste.
Responsibilities:1.Hot WorkSafety:
  • Review andapprove hot work permit applications ensuring compliance withsafety procedures.
  • Conduct comprehensive riskassessments for activities such as welding cutting or otherprocesses generating heat or sparks.
  • Implementpreventive measures and safety precautions to control fire hazardsassociated with hot work.
  • Define designatedareas for hot work activities and monitorcompliance.
2. MCBWasteManagement:
  • Overseethe proper management and disposal of Miniature Circuit Breaker(MCB) waste.
  • Maintain accurate records of thequantity and types of MCB waste generated throughout theyear.
  • Compile an annual return summarizing MCBwaste disposal methods quantities and compliancedata.
  • Ensure compliance with environmentalregulations governing the disposal of electronic or electricalwaste.
3. SafetyPrograms andPolicies:
  • Developimplement and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policiesin alignment with local regulations and industrystandards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspectionsand audits to identify potential hazards and ensurecompliance.
  • Stay updated with safetyregulations and standards and communicate changes to relevantstakeholders.
4.Training andCommunication:
  • Developand deliver safety training programs covering topics such as hotwork safety hazardous waste management and emergencyresponse.
  • Foster a culture of safety bypromoting open communication and reporting of safetyconcerns.
  • Regularly communicate safety updatesreminders and achievements toemployees.
5.Incident Investigation andReporting:
  • Investigateand report on workplace incidents accidents and nearmisses.
  • Implement corrective actions to preventthe recurrence of incidents.
  • Prepare and submitsafety reports to management summarizing key safety metrics andtrends.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelorsdegree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science or arelated field.
  2. Proven experience 1 year as aSafety Officer preferably in an industrial or manufacturingsetting.
  3. Indepth knowledge of safetyregulations hot work safety and hazardous wastemanagement.
  4. Strong analytical andproblemsolving skills.
  5. Excellent communicationand interpersonal skills.
  6. Certification inoccupational health and safety (e.g. NEBOSH OSHA) is aplus.
  7. Familiarity with risk assessmentmethodologies.
