Job Description

Overview of the Role:

As a Tech Lead at Freshworks, you will spearhead the design and development of cutting-edge products and platform services, leveraging your expertise in distributed systems. You will work with a talented team of engineers to deliver high-performance, scalable solutions that redefine customer experiences. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on systems that are not only highly available but also operate at internet scale.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a high-performing team to deliver scalable, low-latency, and cost-efficient solutions for your product. Drive the design and implementation of solutions using a range of open-source distributed systems, ensuring the delivery of a robust and complete product. Collaborate closely with architects and engineers from different product teams to develop innovative solutions and drive their successful adoption. Define quality attributes and establish metrics to measure the success of the product. Ensure compliance with Freshworks' compliance and information security processes, fostering a customer-centric, security-first mindset.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 7+ years of relevant experience in software development, with a focus on backend systems. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns. Proficiency in the Secure-Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) and experience working in an Agile environment. Demonstrated ability to design for scale and performance, with hands-on experience in building and optimizing high-performance systems. Experience conducting and participating in peer code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing. Solid problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous learning and improvement. Expertise in at least one programming language (, Java, Python, etc.) and a strong foundation in data structures and algorithms.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience leading and mentoring a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (, AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (, Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with microservices architecture and a strong understanding of distributed computing principles. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
