Position Summary

The incumbent will be responsible to manage all costing activities related to BOM,

Inventory and all manufacturing processes. Incumbent will be responsible for the

complete cost management in the plant.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Provide costing inputs to management to arrive at “Should cost” of a SKU to take a

more realistic business decision on an SKU introduction.

• To prepare costings for all new SKUs for arriving at Sales prices.

• Existing BOM’s are reviewed on a regular basis for correctness, vital inputs are

provided during the NPD cycle to ensure optimize material and processing costs.

• All cost components are defined precisely and updated when required to ensure

that every SKU launched has accurate BOM.

• Regular sanitization of active BOM’s in coordination with Design function.

• Cycle time and absorption rates for all SKU’s to be revisited and corrected in

coordination with Manufacturing and ensure allocation of these inputs to arrive at

correct costing of SKU’s.

• Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing processes and

/or services provided, to determine effects on cost and report impact.

• Analyze variance of actual manufacturing cost versus standard costs and take up

for corrections as appropriate.

• Provide management with analysis on factors affecting prices and profitability of

products or services.

• Prepare, analyze, and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by

product.

• Maintain internal control documentation to ensure integrity of costing data.

• Help in driving cost efficiencies in the organization in coordination with Production,

Design, IT & Finance.



Skills & Abilities Required:

• SAP knowledge and advance Microsoft Excel is must.

• Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills

• Analyze data and information granularly.

• Eye for detail to pick up variances and deviations from comparative data.

• Time management and work scheduling

• Self-motivated & quick learning ability.


Education Qualification & Experience required:

• An engineer with product cost accounting academic background with 5-7 years of

exp. In a manufacturing setup preferably in a light engineering industry.

• Experience of working in an automotive parts /assembly / architectural hardware

manufacturing industry.

• Sound knowledge of production processes, design function and costing of products

and processes.
