Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), headquartered in Bengaluru, India, was founded in 6 as a captive unit to support Mercedes-Benz groups Research & Development and IT. We started with a focus on topics ranging from CAD, CAE and IT programming for all of the group’s business units. Meanwhile, we have moved up in value to cater to advanced topics in vehicle engineering and IT technologies. We are now responsible for new methods in Design and CAE, software content for control units, head units and various critical engineering tools. Important components of digital dependencies on overall product development, is located now at MBRDI. The satellite office in Pune specializes in interior & exterior component design, wiring harness, IT for Sales. The establishment of MBRDI is in line with the Mercedes - Benz group’s ambition to attract the world’s best engineering talent and form a global footprint for its R&D and IT competencies. MBRDI also aims to partner closely with suppliers in India for its activities in product development and IT services. We are now one of the largest developments centers outside of Germany, employing over 0 skilled engineers aside from being an integral part of all business units and brands of Mercedes-Benz worldwide.

Specific Knowledge:

SEZ and STPI Regulation

· Manage import/export compliance activities, ensuring alignment with international trade regulations and internal policies.

· Prepare, review and verify documentation related to import/export transactions, ensuring all data is accurate and timely for customs clearance processes.

· Act as the liaison between CHA, procurement, finance and other internal departments to ensure the smooth and compliant flow of goods across Multiple locations.

· Support audits and compliance assessments and implement controls to enhance process gaps..

· Identify process improvement initiatives, system automation and reporting tools to enhance operational efficiency and compliance accuracy.

Customs Documentation and Operations

· Monitor and reconcile Domestic tariff Area procurement of Goods, ensuring accuracy and compliance endorsement.

· Conduct reconciliation for DTA Services and obtaining the endorsement approvals from SEZ.

· Manage the DSPF self-filing process including preparation, reconciliation, data submission.

· Handle the Temporary Removals process and documentation from SEZ and ensure that the proper documentation and approvals are in place.

· Validate the leased materials delivery challans and supporting documentation for accuracy.

· File BOE for lease materials with the help of CHA for assessment.

· Ensure the re-warehousing of materials post inward process for duty benefit materials

Trade Compliance (STPI/SEZ/Customs)

· Prepare and report Monthly Performance Reports (MPR) for SEZ and STPI locations.

· Service Export Reporting Form (SERF) reporting for SEZ and STPI locations.

· Prepare, submit and obtain approval for Softex forms for SEZ and STPI locations.

· Prepare, submit and secure approval for Form-A for STPI.

· Provide support for APR and other regulatory returns.

· Generate STPI bulk approval utilization reports.

· Manage B and BLUT for new and additional locations.

· Coordinate Legatrix compliance reporting and submissions.

· Collect, prepare, submit and document quarterly WFH approval requests.

Supplier’s Contract and Invoice Verification

· Verify and approve the customs and trade compliance related invoices.

· Provide the cost allocation information along with cost objects to Controlling for approvals.

· Collaboration with SPoC’s for creation of PR and PO for customs area

· Verification of Open PO’s, Contract based services and providing month-end provisions

Reporting

· Maintain and report bond status, tracking.

· Coordinate with stakeholders and submit the Master MPR on a timely basis.

· Maintain and verify the Softex status tracker, ensuring timely submission
