Data Analyst

Primary responsibilities

Software Requirements:

Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modeling. Proficiency in SQL query-writing and data profiling. Familiarity with Big Data/Hadoop platform and experience with Python. Experience in data integration, data conversions, and ETL development. Basic familiarity with Collibra for maintaining the repository of Critical Data Elements.

Overall Responsibilities:

Conduct data analysis, data profiling, and data sourcing for business requirements. Create and maintain Data Quality (DQ) rules and review any DQ exceptions. Manage the Global Financial Crime (GFC) Critical Data Element list in the Enterprise Data Governance repository (Collibra). Provide support to business analysts and developers with data subject expertise, query building, and optimization. Translate business requirements into data models and ETL design specifications. Assist in ETL development, testing, and troubleshooting of ETL issues. Troubleshoot data issues and collaborate with data providers for resolution.

Experience:

At least 5 years of experience in the financial industry with knowledge of financial services data. Experience in data integration, data conversions, and troubleshooting data issues.

Day-to-Day Activity:

Analyze and profile data to support business requirements and data sourcing. Create and maintain Data Quality (DQ) rules and review exceptions for data integrity. Collaborate with business analysts and developers to optimize data queries and ETL processes. Troubleshoot data issues and work with data providers for resolution.

Qualifications & Soft Skills:

Good verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration. Strong analytical, profiling, and troubleshooting skills for data analysis and management. Familiarity with data visualization and modeling tools to enhance data insights. Basic familiarity with Collibra for maintaining the repository of Critical Data Elements.
