Description

Techno Functional Lead is expected to lead the effort to build and maintain automated test frameworks and/or extend existing frameworks. These frameworks should assist in performing end-to-end testing in multi-component environments. The candidate will work with the test engineers/vendor team to design and develop a reusable architecture for the test automation; participate in the test automation tool selection process; integrate test suites into the test management system and custom test harnesses; and, perform other testing-related duties as required.

Your key responsibilities

Technical

Select and develop appropriate test automation tools, applying the latest techniques in test automation, e.g., data-driven testing. Should be creative and proactive thinker to make use of current technologies to provide extensible automation infrastructures. Use risk-driven techniques to develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites. Prepare reusable functions, which improve the robustness, re-usability, and maintainability of the test scripts. Work with the Development team to capture and reuse automated Unit Test Cases, Test Stubs and Drivers, and other Development test objects. Involved in supporting the build master implement/improve build test processes, environments, and scripts. These build tests ensure that the code drops to quality assurance are of the highest quality. Participate in the Change Control Board to identify the quality implications of known bugs and the impact of proposed changes to product definition on the testing process. Work with the Release Engineering team to create and maintain an automated nightly build verification (“smoke”) test. Review requirements, specifications, user documentation, help files, and other project documentation to assure quality of the products and tests to be developed; i.e., perform manual static testing. Ensure proper version control and configuration management of all test objects developed and test environments used.

Management and Supervisory

Must be able to take on leadership responsibilities and influence the direction of the automation effort, and its schedule and prioritization. Provide the Test Manager with accurate and precise estimates for assigned task duration, along with confidence levels and foreseeable dependencies. Assist the Test Manager in preparing test plans and schedules. Participate in tester interviews, including administering “audition interviews” for Manual Test Engineer, Test Automation Engineer, and Test Technician candidates. Provide technical guidance to junior-level test engineers and/or test technicians assigned to assist the Test Automation Engineer. Provide the Test Manager with performance assessments for assigned junior personnel.

Your skills and experience

Should have 9-15 total test experience with 7-10 years of relevant automation experience. Knowledge of investment banking is necessary. Good to have reference data services knowledge & its related products. Hands-on working experience on Test Automation using Data Driven, Keyword Driven and Hybrid Framework. Must have lead/worked in ETL/Data Warehouse projects/programs. Hands-on working experience in regression test suite design and maintenance, able to analyse manual test cases, specs and requirements. Good understanding of Testing Life Cycle and latest Test methodologies and processes. Plays key role in regression (execution, result analysis, defect reporting and follow-up). Thorough Knowledge of automation tool UFT, Selenium, BDD and other Open Source tools & CI / CD tools like TeamCity, Jenkins, Git. Should be well versed in Agile methodologies and must to have working experience in Agile teams. Agile certification will be an added advantage Should be hands on Shell Scripting, Java & other scripting languages like JavaScript. Should be aware about Backend Automation of Rest Services, SOAP Services, Databases, Message Queues using different tools and languages. Proficiency in SQL, Oracle. Knowledge on BigData technologies is a addition. Quick Learner Ability to learn new technology, tools and best practices in solution areas Should be good at problem solving and debugging with excellent analytical skills Proactive and assertive attitude Good in verbal & written communication
