Responsibilities

A day in the role will look like:

Creation and maintenance of databases and schemas on varying database technologies. viz., Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, SQL Server, and Mongo DB. Creation and maintenance of database scripts for multiple environments ., Development, UAT, Production, etc. Analysis of existing screens and data to reverse-engineer data models. Analysis of new requirements and wireframes for creating new data models. Creation and extension of Logical and Physical data models. Database performance monitoring. Tagging and packaging of scripts as per the release management schedule. Mapping of entities and attributes between old and new systems.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification that you will have:

Graduate degree in Science/Engineering or any other equivalent degree.

Essential skills

The required technical and professional expertise:

Ability to translate business requirements into technical design, code, test, and deliverable solutions that meet or exceed the customer’s expectations. Knowledge of OLTP, OLAP, Star and Snow-flake schemas; KPI’s, Fact and Dimensions tables; Conceptual, Logical, and Physical data modelling. Ability to tune complex SQL queries and apply performance tuning as and when needed. Review existing programs and assist in making refinements, reducing operating time and improving current techniques. Expert in the use of database features and ETL development and management. Excellent debugging skills. Willingness to travel to customer sites if required. Good interpersonal skills with experience of working with people spread across locations and time zones. Should be able to work independently and within the team.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and challenging deadlines.
