Job Description
Philips is transforming its financial processes to facilitate new business models & solution selling efficiently & effectively. Additionally all key processes are being streamlined and standardized, applying process management principles & LEAN. Within Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) we are using this opportunity to revisit our management accounting framework and the related system architecture supporting our company’s performance management processes. You will contribute by defining & implementing improved FP&A processes and supporting systems & reporting solutions, using state of the art tools from vendors such as SAP and Microsoft. Your responsibilities
Team up with the Business Partners and Business Process Owners (BPO’s) for Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) business processes like Supply & Operations planning, Transportation management and Manufacturing and manage the impact of business transformations in these processes on key financial processes like Forecasting & (Industrial) performance management
Proactively initiate process improvement and harmonization of Operations FP&A processes, ensuring key enablers like data quality are addressed in close collaboration with ISC BPO’s
Ensure consistency and granularity of financial insights across the end-to-end ISC processes
Drive adoption of FP&A solutions like Industry P&Ls, Inventory Analytics and Freight Analytics within the Operations teams, embedding these solutions within business processes and actively contributing to communication and trainings
Ensure consistency of financial data across the end-to-end process such as factory cost prices & freight costs that need to be consistent in both industrial reporting & analysis and commercial reporting & analysis
Contribute to the Management Accounting Framework and Philips Excellence Process Framework
Work closely together with the Business Process Experts in the team in defining the improvement roadmap, executing it (project management) and tracking progress
Evaluate system / process change requests and provide guidance on implementation options. Validating proposed system solutions according to process design (proof of concepts, testing, …)
Own a forum between business & adder owners to periodically reconcile management and financial accounting. Making sure that the unexplained gap is below the set target.
Drive actions to increase margin insight breakthroughs out of management accounting for Philips
Your team
You will be part of an international team, headed by the Financial Planning & Analytics OPS Leader. The team consists of ~ 20 experienced, fast-paced experts in both business processes and systems (including OneBI, BW, SAP). While being part of the FP&A team, you support the wider Finance community of Philips in laying the foundations for all of our management accounting. Your regular work location will be Chennai, India. Your main stakeholders are the other FP&A Centers of Expertise and you will be working very closely with the Commercial, Operations and Digital Centers of Excellence in particular. You will also have regular interaction with Accounting Operations, Enterprise Information Management as well as IT specialists.

We are looking for a candidate that has
Bachelor or Master in IT, Finance / Accounting or Supply chain domain
Minimum of 7 years’ experience working in commercial finance or business processes related to pricing, quotation and/or margin analysis.
Gained deep understanding of the data and systems supporting these processes
Understands how analytics methods can be used to turn data into business insights & recommendations
Requires a track record of Project & Change Management successes: in managing implementation of projects and motivation of teams.
Relevant experience in the process optimization and re-engineering domains, in either Philips or external
Proven track record of driving or assistance in driving change in an organization
Thorough and well-structured
Strong affinity with LEAN processes and tools
Robust conceptual understanding of process definitions and interdependencies on multiple dimensions combined with pragmatic approach to workable solutions and E2E process implementation
Clear communication and documentation skills
Presentation and visualization skill

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
