•Ensuring compliance / delivery of the indirect tax portfolio under assigned region
•In addition to their own portfolio, managers are responsible for supervising small teams of junior tax staff.
•Supporting audit needs of various jurisdictions/ entities under given portfolio.
•Supporting the continuous improvement of processes, controls and data quality, including effective use of technology, to manage risk and cost relating to Indirect taxes, adapting to the increasing demands for real-time, data-led transactional reporting.
•Successful candidates will work with businesses, finance team, service providers, auditors and other professionals in carrying out their responsibilities. Review and approve Indirect tax returns and various tax support workpapers timely as required by taxing jurisdictions to ensure all tax filings deadlines are met. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of information requests / data provision for tax returns / payments by team and also, confirm that required evidences are maintained to support tax filing positions and future audits. Assist in managing the tax function, including developing and implementing strategies, controls, practices/protocols and planning opportunities. Manage audit needs of various jurisdictions and ensuring organization is audit ready Monitor and manage indirect tax compliance process and outside consultants for tha assigned region. Support regional tax team to implement Tax law changes to ensure all systems are compliant. Supporting and driving tax process efficiencies. Support and contribute to finance transformation and other tax related projects Review and research international tax law for tax planning, accounting and compliance purposes. Ensure Indirect tax accounts balances are maintained and related reconciliation process in place. Collating data and preparing reports and responses to information requests from management, tax authorities and auditors. Supporting the operation, monitoring and reporting of Indirect tax and related accounting controls, data quality improvement and key performance measures. Ensuring effective, pro-active communication with external and internal stakeholders. Supervision and management of small team of junior tax staff, including qualified and/or external consultants. Qualified Chartered Accountant/ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Taxation / MBA or similar with vast experience as below. 8 -12 years of post-qualification experience in International Indirect Tax compliance & reporting in either large global organisations or Big 4 advisors, preferably in shared services or centre of excellence environment. Knowledge about financial & accounting systems and processes. Experience with ERP systems (preferred SAP) is required and awareness of or experience with tax compliance & reporting technologies and effective process & control operation. Willingness to learn new applications and explore smart ways of working. Good verbal and written communication skills with different levels of stakeholder, both internal and external. Detail orientated, proven commitment to high quality delivery and continuous improvement. Flexible, able to work to deadlines and to prioritise effectively Team player, with some experience of managing or leading small teams, including qualified professionals.
