Okta is looking for Demo Engineering Developers who are passionate about creating world class, persona driven demo narratives which showcase Okta products to solution oriented vertical markets and customers worldwide. 

In this role, you will collaborate with presales, product teams, sales, marketing, and customers to evaluate upcoming applications and features which are the most relevant for customers. These narratives drive demo stories and other collateral that can be crafted to aid the sales process with value propositions that matter, and configure the product so that solution Engineers, Sales, and partners can demo the desired use cases. 

Work with the surrounding teams to drive and develop the demos to meet the roadmap timelines for the Field Go to Market teams. This will directly support our Field-readiness for GA of new Product releases / enhancements.

In addition to crafting the use case(s), this role will need to create the technical configurations in partnership with a team of Engineers to enable the organization to showcase the outcomes delivered by the product and some of our key technology partnerships, so a technical background is required.

What you get to do in this role:

Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering to be on the lookout for upcoming functions and features that need to be integrated into outcome-based demo narratives Configure the products in a solution oriented approach so that Okta Go to Market Teams can communicate the solutions the product(s) can solve Work directly with Field teams to understand customers perspectives to capture their expectations, preferences, and aversions in a “Voice of the Customer” Use data gathered from Product Managers, Sales, Customers, and Marketing, to build and configure demos to showcase Okta’s overarching solutions and product portfolio Provide the technology that enables the Field to bring compelling demo stories to life Collaborate with other product teams to develop demos that showcase non-product specific outcomes Create various narrative driven scripts for different types of demos then configure the instance to tell those stories Work with Field Readiness team to drive adoption of the Demo Platform within the field organization Participate in the release planning process to influence the product direction based on customer feedback Monitor, triage and work incidents against your configurations Maintain integrity of data within demos (for example, update dates to be current and make sense on dashboards, ensure “demo data” is relevant and does not reference outdated technology, etc.) Create supporting documents for demos like solution records, overview, details, release notes, and presentations

Qualifications

In order to be successful in this role, we need someone who has:

5+ years of experience with Enterprise SaaS products. Full Stack development experience (, node, AWS) Experience building technical solutions that scale from the ground-up Demonstrable skills in translating complex technical problems into simple business language Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Be able to understand and represent end-to-end value driven demos to different personas in the procurement space. Includes being able to demo to senior personas at the VP of Procurement and CFO level. Have advanced working technical knowledge of the Okta and Auth0 platform. Extensive demonstration experience covering technical and value needs. Writing skill and proficiency to craft narrative scripts Natural empathy for and understanding of the needs of customers across multiple types.

Demonstrated ability to learn new technology. Must enjoy working in a highly collaborative environment. Exceptional communication skills to include technical and business concepts. Very strong written communication skills. Demonstrated being proactive without being told what to do. Ability to prioritize tasks and be efficient to minimize wasted effort.
