MEDICALUNDERWRITER Youwill have a proven working knowledge of Income Protection LifeCritical Illness and disability products Youwill provide fair and balanced underwriting decisions using theappropriate amount of evidence necessary Youwill assess all applications that aren t accepted by our onlineunderwriting engine initial applications additional informationamendments and you will assess all medical evidence upon receiptfrom third party sources. You will do so ina timely manner within agreed Service Level Agreements and alwayswith the customer and our reputation inmind. You will also provide a telephoneservice for presale enquiries being the first point of contact forour advisers when they are looking to place business with usproviding accurate indications of underwriting decisions andworking with Sales to ensure advisers consider us their number oneprovider. You will have general knowledge ofinsurance industry codes and currentpractices You will liaise with CustomerServices Sales and our reinsurance partners when requiredrepresenting the Medical Underwriting department in a positive andcollaborative way You will develop a goodunderstanding of the business and contribute to best practiceoverall for our customers and colleagues Youwill be innovative forward thinking and able to identifyopportunities for improvements in our philosophy processes andprocedures. You will be able to demonstrategood lateral thinking and proactive problemsolving skills havesound decision making skills and the ability to recognize riskevents manage and escalate these whereappropriate. You will display role modelbehaviours in line with company values have good organizational andtime management skills and be reliable andflexible.
