REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:
Bachelor’s degree. Experience managing, leading, and working with remote/distributed teams with diverse backgrounds with 4 or more years of managing others in a security field. 4 or more years relevant professional experience in security operations or performing Incident Response. Advanced understanding of present-day cyber-threats, attacker techniques and behaviors, and effective methods to both detect & repel these threats for a global organization with a distributed enterprise IT environment. Serve as SME for threat and attack detection using SIEM, SOAR, threat intelligence, log analysis, network and EDR telemetry, forensic triage acquisition methods and other response techniques. Deep understanding of effective defensive controls for network, email, endpoint, identities, and data security both in traditional IT and in the Cloud. Foundational experience and background with broad enterprise-level IT technologies including networks, endpoints, virtualization, cloud, operating systems, email, storage, databases, etc. Proficiency leading projects and project management experience with a focus on delivering results. Flexibility to work outside regularly scheduled/normal business hours as required.RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide incident response as part of the 24x7 Security Operations Center 4-6 years of experience of working in Security operations and Incident response. Managing our SOC and all related tools, solutions, processes, and people. Leading the daily work of security analysts has a desire for developing a SOC and SOAR platform, and prioritizing response and effective in the remediation of threats. Implementing and managing others in delivery of processes and standard work for the global security operations function. This includes threat mapping, playbook development, building threat intelligence informed detections, and performing detailed investigations including threat hunting and intrusion analysis, utilizing an advanced security stack for daily work, and ensuring team SLAs and performance is met and delivered. Security Incident Management includes implementing automation to gain efficiencies, reduce errors, and increase capacity of an enterprise incident response program. Become the subject matter expert in the preparation, identification, and eradication of information and technology threats, and thus will be called up to influence and guide the overall Information Security Program direction and approach. Building correlation queries, on boarding data to Splunk, knowledge of deploying technical Addon’s from Splunk base. Experience of working with Vulnerability Management. Must have expert networking protocol knowledge. Able to demonstrate an understanding of current offensive / defensive computing and forensics. Should be able to provide threat Intel services. Prior experience detecting, analyzing and/or responding to security incidents. Good Communication & written skills. Hands-on experience with common security technologies (IDS, Firewall, SIEM, Understanding of common security threats, attack vectors, vulnerabilities, and exploits Shift work, with flexibility to cover both day and nighttime shifts. Managing a Splunk Enterprise Security environment, O-365 and Azure. Should be able to work independently, with Vendors and drive the calls whenever required. Promote a risk-awareness culture, work closely with GRC team in India and US to ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices. Conducts initial triage of security events and incidents. Facilitates communication within the SOC and documents progress throughout the Incident Response Lifecycle. Recognizes potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises through reviews and correlation with different security tools. Proper escalation and hand-off of security incidents for containment and remediation Tuning of rules, filters, and policies for detection-related security technologies to improve accuracy and visibility. Jumping on the call with Vendors and other teams to discuss issues with Splunk/ to get their requirements and deliver the same in the form of projects. Providing weekly/monthly reports to the Upper Management. Maintaining documentation of policies and procedures Security process improvement Work closely with team and guide them from time to time.Work with different application teams/security vendors within India and and provide suggestions in improving security posture.
