Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mould Designer to join our team. The Mould Designer will be responsible for designing and developing moulds used in the manufacturing process of various products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with expertise in CAD software and mould design principles. This role requires excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop moulds for the manufacturing of plastic, metal, or composite products, considering factors such as product specifications, material properties, and manufacturing processes.

2. Utilize CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) to create detailed 2D and 3D designs of moulds, incorporating design standards and best practices.

3. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure that mould designs meet technical requirements, quality standards, and production deadlines.

4. Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to assess the performance, cost, and manufacturability of mould designs, making necessary adjustments and optimizations as needed.

5. Generate technical documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and bill of materials (BOM), to support the manufacturing and assembly of moulds.

6. Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and advancements in mould design and manufacturing processes, and integrate relevant innovations into design practices.

7. Provide technical support and guidance to production teams during the setup, testing, and troubleshooting of moulds, ensuring smooth production operations.

8. Collaborate with external suppliers and vendors to source materials, components, and tooling required for mould fabrication, while ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.


Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.

- Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools, with the ability to create detailed 2D and 3D designs.

- Familiarity with Uni-Graph (Unigraphics) software for CAD/CAM/CAE, in addition to SolidWorks, demonstrating the ability to work with multiple CAD platforms effectively.

- Strong understanding of mould design principles, injection moulding processes, and material properties.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements related to mould design and fabrication.

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
