Environmental, Health & Safety Manager

What this job involves

Performance

Implement Global Work Dynamics HSSE strategic objectives and bring them to life for the client, ensuring effective operational relevance within the area of responsibility. Manage and reduce operational risks across the account by providing guidance and advice on health and safety risk management at all levels Provide technical advice on relevant EHS issues and communicate notifications of changes in legislation that will impact service delivery and/or client occupancy Ensure a continued working knowledge of relevant current legislation Identify improvement opportunities and support the account team in identifying practical cost-effective solutions and controls for EHS risks Ensure building related risk assessments are in place and in line with legal requirements and Client Risk Control Standards Manage account incident and accident investigations.

Leadership

Foster a Culture of Safety across the account Support account EHS team members in developing relationships with key internal and external EHS stakeholders Proactively develop and manage client relationships ensuring expected service levels are achieved Deliver an exceptional quality of service to Client, as reflected by client feedback Embed JLL WD EHS requirements and meet client requirements and standards Establish effective relationships and work co-operatively with the Account Team, Client, and 3rd party vendors Ensure 3rd party vendors maintain compliance with JLL WD, and Client EHS Standards.

Standards

Oversee the implementation and maintenance of JLL Global EHS operational controls, (i.e., process, standards, procedures, and guidelines) ensuring compliance with EHS obligations and JLL’s EHS aspirations Identify and align JLL EHS practices to Client EHS standards and requirements Drive the development of best practice EHS training programs and resources. Implement EHS strategy and operating protocols for the safety performance of JLL’s contractors and supply chain vendors Oversee the successful delivery of EHS regulatory responsibilities and best practices regionally to secure regulatory compliance, including management of change related to new and revised legislation Oversee the successful management of assurance for the EHS program, while supporting growth strategies related to Client, JLL and/or national and industry standards.

Desired skills and experience for this job

A minimum 5-10 years EHS management experience within Operational Management systems and working with corporate clients Knowledge and experience in managing EHS for multiple sites with a strong understanding of the EHS regulatory environment in India Appropriate recognized Professional EHS qualifications and memberships Management system development, implementation, and auditing experience Experience of implementing EHS technology platforms and data management tools across multiple site and country. Practical working knowledge of up-to-date tools and techniques within a real estate environment and management of risk across a complex multi-site property portfolio Significant practical experience of problem solving EHS issues in a dynamic/diverse environment and implementation of risk control systems and processes Ability to influence, partner and operate strategically are critical competencies. Positive, proactive, energetic approach to safety management. Ability to demonstrate initiative and show foresight in relation to existing and potential problems. Results orientated with a strong focus on the delivery of objectives, including an ability to provide creative and innovative solutions based on a sound understanding of business requirements. Ability to carry out an audit/inspection/review and gather objective evidence through observation, interview and sampling of documents and records. Strong cultural awareness: unwavering ethical standards; drives excellence and innately collaborative. Understands how to be effective operating across geographies and cultures An agile approach to leadership and stakeholder management – able to operate effectively in a matrix structure A strong orientation to goals and measurable results Excellent communication skills to appropriately coach and educate at all levels of the account.
