The position

As a Medical Manager, you will report to the Director of Medical Affairs and Medical Education and be a member of the affiliate CMR team. You are responsible for the planning and execution of the local medical strategy for the development of the Cardiovascular & Emerging Therapy Areas. You will be instrumental in the identification and segmentation of KOLs relevant to the Cardiovascular & Emerging Therapy Areas and develop engagement plans, including obtaining expert advice to guide local decisions and strategy. You will also be responsible for –

Drafting and adapting a global publication plan about the local needs and regulations. Liaise with relevant professional associations, including congress activities in support of Novo Nordisk's presence in the Cardiovascular & Emerging Therapy Areas. Providing guidance and training internally to support capability building in (affiliate) as well as giving support to clinical operations in the execution of clinical trials in Cardiovascular & Emerging Therapy Areas, In areas where medical resources to support Cardiovascular & Emerging Therapy Areas studies are not available are also key responsibilities. Seek opportunities and advice to obtain an understanding of the market and patient pathways within Cardiovascular & Emerging Therapy Areas in support of internal medical and commercial business decisions and scientific development of Cardiovascular & Emerging Therapy Areas.

Qualifications

Medical Doctor with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of metabolic medicine (diabetes, obesity, CVD, dyslipidaemias), either from the pharmaceutical industry, medical practice, or academia. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical affairs in the pharmaceutical industry would be advantageous. People management experience is desirable. In-depth understanding of the role of medical affairs in the pharmaceutical industry, medical affairs tools, and activities. Can connect medical affairs and commercial priorities and can work with cross-functional stakeholders. Excellent medical communication skills. Driven, can take initiative, and are agile in actions. Personality is aligned with our Novo Nordisk Way and you are fluent in both written and spoken English.

In Cardiovascular & Emerging Therapy Areas, we aim to create a strong presence by building a competitive pipeline and scientific leadership. Our focus will be on non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), chronic kidney disease (CKD), cardiovascular diseases (CVD), and Alzheimer’s disease.
