Senior Test Engineer

Overview:

This is an individual contributor role that will be responsible for QA test execution with minimal supervision. This position is responsible for the identification of test scenarios / test cases and execution of application testing. This includes the identification of Functional, Technical and Integration related defects. The resource selected will work as part of a fast-paced, iterative delivery team with resources located in India and reports administratively to a QA Manager.

Responsibilities:

·Understands requirement and develops test scenarios and test cases ensuring adequate coverage.

·Understands the functional aspects of the retail domain.

·Partners with Developers and Business Analysts to develop test scenarios/cases based on user stories, ensuring adequate coverage.

·Ensures appropriate test data is identified and available in the test environment.

·Executes and maintains manual/automated tests.

·Delivers day-to-day assignments with a high level of quality and attention to detail.

·Reviews deliverables of junior resources within the team.

·Proactively identify functional, technical, and integration related defects.

·Perform preliminary trouble shooting of defects to facilitate quick resolution.

·Clearly documents defects, and retests fixes in a timely manner using test management tools like SpiraPlan / JIRA.

·Effectively communicate issues and risks in addition to daily testing status to Test lead/stakeholders.

·Successfully multi-tasks across project and non-project assignments, delivering on time in accordance with the priorities.

Qualifications

·Required: 5-8 years of experience of ETL testing in retail testing domain.

·BE/MCA from reputed institutes

·Experience and conversant with ETL processes and tools

·Work experience on Big Data technologies

·Delivery experience on projects in Agile methodology.

·Strong SQL knowledge and able to build complex queries, experience in Snowflake .

·Highly conversant in analytics using MicroStrategy suite of products

·Has worked on SAP BW and SAP BOBJ reports.

·Has worked on ETL automation.

·Conversant in BI concepts, such as diagnostic/predictive analytics

·Exposure to software testing methodologies (test planning, test scope identification, test case Development, test execution, defect management).

·Organizational and planning skills.

·Strong interpersonal skills, proactive participation in Team environment

·Effective documentation and communication skills

·Takes pride in delivering quality work to meet the needs of clients and customers.
