We are home to events that matter As a Banquet Manager, you will be working closely with our Director of Banquets to lead and supervise the Banquet team to ensure the flawless execution of our events. ,What you will be doing:

Lead and supervise the Banquet team, ensuring service standards are followed Effectively operate and create an environment that is committed to exceeding guests expectations by ensuring proper staffing, organizing employees tasks, assignments and projects, including maintenance of event space. Ensure accuracy and consistency of event set-ups by checking meeting room and reviewing the corresponding banquet event order Drive Guest Satisfaction (VOG) success by meeting clients for specific rooms and functions and handling guest concerns from beginning to end Work with the Conference Services & Catering department to ensure that revenues and guest satisfaction levels are maximized Coordinate the shipment, receipt and storage of client packages Provide an active presence at the event Recruit, motivate, coach, and discipline all Banquet colleagues Train, evaluate and promote the growth and development of internal talent Complete one-on-one meetings and performance reviews in accordance with company guidelines Maintain the safety and sanitation of the banquet spaces in adherence to local Health Department, EHC (Environmental Health Consultancy) food handling safety standards Manage labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, and inventory
Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process. Must be service oriented and capable of communicating effectively with persons involved in all levels of authority, both internally and externally. Must possess basic computational ability. Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail functions. Must be able to multi-task and be detail-oriented in a fast paced, high volume environment.  Must have ability to work independently and to prioritize or seek clarification in prioritizing work assignments.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent or vocational training College degree in Hospitality management or related field preferred

Experience

Two years work experience leading food & beverage operations Experience in a high volume bar or lounge is an asset Experience in Silverware point of sale system is an asset

Licenses or Certificates

TB Clearance Maui County Liquor Card TIPS Certification Food Safety Certification or ServSafe Certification
