OverviewThe SoftwareTest Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the quality andfunctionality of software products before they are released to thecustomers. They are responsible for designing and implementing teststrategies conducting manual and automated tests and identifyingand reporting defects. The role is crucial in upholding the overallquality standards of the software development process and ensuringthat the end products meet the specifiedrequirements.Keyresponsibilities
  • Designing anddeveloping test plans test scenarios and test cases based onsoftware requirements
  • Executing functionalregression and performance tests to identify defects and ensuresoftware quality
  • Performing automated testingusing industrystandard tools andframeworks
  • Collaborating with softwaredevelopers to resolve and retest identifieddefects
  • Maintaining and enhancing automatedtest suites to mitigate softwareregression
  • Creating and managing defecttracking reports anddocumentation
  • Participating in the continuousimprovement of the testing process andmethodologies
  • Conducting compatibility testingon various operating systems devices andbrowsers
  • Contributing to the validation ofsoftware design and architecturaldecisions
  • Providing input to enhance the userexperience and usability of softwareproducts
Requiredqualifications
  • Bachelor s or Master sdegree in Computer Science Engineering or a relatedfield
  • Proven experience in software testing andquality assurance practices
  • Proficiency in atleast one programming language such as Java Python orC
  • Familiarity with test automation tools andframeworks like Selenium Appium or JUnit
  • Stronganalytical and problemsolving skills with attention todetail
  • Excellent understanding of softwaredevelopment lifecycle and methodologies
  • Abilityto work effectively in a collaborative teamenvironment
  • Solid knowledge of defect trackingand test management tools (e.g. JiraTestRail)
  • Good understanding of databasemanagement and SQL queries
  • Effectivecommunication skills and the ability to clearly report and documenttest results
