Job Description / Roles & Responsibilities:

· The Senior Design Engineer will be primarily responsible for CAD design of automotive interior components and

their assembly. Automotive interiors include IP & console, cupholder, Fin AT, Kneepads, USB mounting, Mats,

Structures, storage areas, Wrapped parts, glove box, end-covers, all panels, shroud etc.

· This position is responsible for complete design solution for IP / Floor console component – from concept design

using studio surfaces to build issue countermeasure design solution. He/ she should gather input from relevant

areas, should be able to discuss with cross-functional team and deliver output design with ‘first time right’

assurance.

· Responsible for design and packaging of components & assemblies ., IP & console, cupholder, Fin AT, Kneepads,

USB mounting, Mats, Structures, storage areas, Wrapped parts, glove box, end-covers, all panels, shroud etc. as

per OEM design standards and industry CAD best practices.

· Ensure manufacturing, assembly, service and logistics feasibilities through design solution.

· Ensure locating strategy, RPS, GD&T, mounting strategy, DFM, DFA & DFS.

· Designing of mounting bracket, support brackets etc.

· Calculation of spring force, bolt torque calculations etc.

· 3D annotations, 2D drawing creation with GD&T.

· Develop components packaging issues list and drive resolution prior to Virtual build gateways.

· Relevant earlier experience in designing of similar components of Consoles & IP.

· Participate in System Design Reviews with respective groups prior to release, supplier DFM discussions.

· Release of CAD package into PLM system such as Team Center.

· Experience of E-BOM creation & management.

· Publishing minutes from each meeting

Knowledge / Experience · Excellent communications skills demonstrated, ability to communicate at all levels. · Experience of using project management processes such as design progress planning, commodity planning. · Excellent experience in UG NX, Team-center & VIS-Mockup. · Experience in DFMEA & GD&T · Experience in Excel, word, power-point. · Experience in use of tools . 8D problem solving technique, Root Cause Analysis. · Experience working in interior systems for high performance cars & composite materials would be an added advantage.
