About the Job :

Industrial Engineering Manager will develop and implement new processes for manufacturing. Investigate the latest manufacturing developments and asses their suitability for implementation within the Bengaluru facility

Provide day to day support for the operations, purchasing and product design teams with respect to practical manufacturing technology, which could include pre and post metal treatments, molding, testing and other finishing operations.

To advise customers on suitability and best available technology for materials and manufacturing excellence.

Needs to have a thorough understanding of material science, engineering and surface  technology, test methods, and application techniques for both pre polymer and metal conditions and post molding solutions.

To develop suitable test programs which demonstrate the suitability of molded components for specific applications and document the subsequent results as part of the  product test order (P.T.O) validation. Understand the latest regulations with respect to Risk, Hazardous material and safe working methods.

To guide and advise junior engineers on the best practices.

Have to have a good understanding of the day to day roles of all operatives and processes within the manufacturing environment.

Tasks and Responsibilities :

  • Responsible to develop / evaluate manufacturing processes

  • Responsible to Investigate and support production and evaluate process failures.

  • Responsible to assess chemical risk associated with manufacturing processes.

  • Responsible to Investigate and evaluate production and process failures, including customer reports on service performance.

  • Determine testing methods and administer process control test procedures

  • Responsible for demonstrating commitment with respect to the management system, by contributing to the effective implementation, operation and control of its processes.

  • Having understood the Manufacturing requirements the Industrial Engineering Manager is expected to continue to work closely with all departments to implement efficient manufacturing processes.

  • It will be incumbent upon the Industrial Engineering Manager to create a concept manufacturing proposal which could including the appropriate technical specification and costs as well as assessing the feasibility of any proposal or changes to current manufacturing processes.

  • The tests should comply with the latest National and international standards and should demonstrate that the solution proposed meets the technical or manufacturing requirements.

  • The Industrial Engineering Manager will provide customers with reports detailing the test that has been requested during the PTO or PPAP submission. Also any reports require to support any proposed manufacturing process changes.

  • The Industrial Engineering Manager will ensure that the product is able to be readily manufactured in a timely and cost effective manner by understanding the manufacturing implications of the changes to pre or post molding processes.

  • The Industrial Engineering Manager will provide assistance to all other department members and share knowledge of their experience. They shall advise on best polymer, equipment and processing solutions proposed.

Education and Experience : 

  • B.E Polymer or Chemical, Mechanical

  • 15 to 20 years experience gained in a dynamic polymer manufacturing environment.

Competences :

  • Able to evaluate and communicate the information presented on complex engineering drawings, and have a sound grasp of current manufacturing techniques. A high level of attention to detail is essential.

  • The job holder will possess excellent communication skills and should demonstrate some previous experience in liaising and interacting efficiently with customers in a professional manner.

  • The job holder will demonstrate experience in applying analytical approaches to the resolution of application of pre and post manufacturing solutions.

  • The job holder needs to demonstrate a practical and dynamic approach to determination of factory problems in a challenging environment.
