Duties &Responsibilities:

Developpipeline and asset management tools to meet immediate showdirectedproduction demands ensuring facilitywide consistency as directed bythe show and technical supervisors.
Help maintain a widearray of existing workflows and scripts.
This rolerequires strong communication organizational skills and criticalproblem solving all while designing robust code and toolsdisplayingextensive experience and knowledge of 3D & 2D DCC applicationsand their related APIs and maintaining and adhering to theexpectations and decisions of the Studio.
Assists in theplanning design and implementation of a standardized pipeline forvisual effects production for television commercials and film. Aswell as take part in longerterm strategic planning of the globalpipeline tools for the studio.
Collaborate with theShow/Department TDs Pipeline TDs and Pipeline Developers totroubleshoot problems and implement solutions that are directlyrelated to the Studio.
Works with the Supervisors andLeads to ensure that the project pipeline meets the needs of theStudio.
Communicates with IT Producers and Supervision toensure adequate support coverage to meet the demands of all activeand future projects.
Acts as a point of contact forSupervisors and Production Management to resolve pipeline andworkflow issues that are affecting artists andshows.
Delegate and prioritize pipeline tickets for theStudio Pipeline team to adhere to the needs and expectations ofProduction Management Supervision and the CreativeHead.
Mentor educate and enrich the StudiosShow/Department TDs Pipeline TDs and Pipeline Developers byinforming them and demonstrating proper technical standardsefficient and effective code development as well as constructivecode feedback.
Architects technical solutions which aresustainable robust flexible and work without constant interventionsof pipelinepersonnel.

Requirements:

Acreative thinker and innovator: able to devise and employ cleversolutions to difficult problems
Strong understanding ofVFX postproduction processes for film andtelevision.
Proficient with one or more software APIs:Maya Houdini Nuke Deadline Katana Mari Tractor andShotgun.
Experience with design and development of AssetManagement Systems (all or few components).
Collaboratewith department stakeholders to augment their workflows andtoolsets to achieve specific goals of theproject.
Demonstrate ability to collaborate with otherdevelopers in a coordinated manner on the sameproduct.
Ability to mentor and provide guidance to juniormembers of the team.
Strong communication skills both inwritten and verbal. The ability to articulate both with technicaland nontechnical teams ispreferred.

PreferredQualifications:

Proficient inPython 2.x/3.x (C an asset).
Experience with implementingor working directly with databases (Postgres MySQL MongoDB) andwriting REST APIs would be beneficial.
Craft and updatedocumentation for tools techniques and workflows generated by thePipeline department.
Degree in Computer Science ComputerEngineering or equivalent
