SeniorUnderwriter (Property andCasualty)


Responsibilities

Assist as andwhen required in implementing underwriting strategicfunctions togrow the business and improve on risk appetite and riskselection;

Providetechnical assistance with regards to riskassessment;

Preparequotations and verify quotations prepared by other teammembers;

Reviewapplications for coverage assessing risk levels on a casebycasebasis and makerecommendations;

Providetechnical knowledge to junior staffs while providing technicalcoaching towards analytic underwriting reviews and decisionmaking;

Analyse specialcases and provide Underwriting Manager with a preview of thecases;

Prepareunderwriting files for reinsurers/reinsurance brokers to settle onappropriate placements special acceptance and renewal terms offacultative reinsurancerisks;

Monitor andgenerate renewal list by a set time frame and provide Underwritingreviews as per risk appetite based on customer profile and claimsstatus;

Liaise withClaims department when reviewing terms for clients with adverselossratio;

Maintain set KPIto ensure continuity within underwritingoperations;

Conductportfolio analysis based on market trend and claimsexperience;

Preparereinsurance apportionment on a PML basis for approval byUnderwritingManager;

Extracting datafrom the company s specialised software to produce statisticalreports

Assisting in thereview of pricingstructure

Monitor/preparingloss ratio for each line of business and report to the UnderwritingManager

Review &update internal Policy Administration System (Front and Backend)regarding the underwriting parameters for underwriting portfoliomanagement

Preparing ofreports in view of the clients in our book for analysis purposes& decisionmaking

Preparing ofnonrenewal/cancellation letters based on clients claimexperience



Profile

Knowledge ofgeneral insurance mainly Property and Casualty lines ofBusiness

Knowledge ofInsurance products andservices

Familiar withBusiness insuranceoperations

Data CollectionandPreparation

Microsoftoffice

MSExcel


Excellentcommunication skills both verbal and written in English enablingclear and concisecommunication.

Ability to workin a fastmovingenvironment.

Proactiveapproach to problem solving and positive and candoattitude.

Ability to workcollaboratively with team members and other departments fosteringteamwork and achieving commongoals.

Experience inworking on Policy Administration System Product configuration andProduct development will be anadvantage.

Experience insome basic and intermediate level of programming will be anadditionaledge


RequiredQualifications andExperience:

Minimum degreeHolder in Risk andInsurance

Candidate shouldbe a qualified or partly qualifiedChartered Insurer of III (IndiaInstitute of Insurance or equivalent professionalbodies)

Proficiency inStatisticalsoftware

Minimum of 5years of experience in relatedfield
