Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities
Develop firmwarefor leading edge IoT sensorproducts.
Gather productfunctional requirements define proper firmware behavior andimplement firmwaremodules.
Work closelywith other developers/teams to ensure proper interoperability withgateway and other IoTproducts.
Work closelywith verification and validation (test) team to ensure full testcoverage and quick closure of reported firmwaredefects.
Recognizetechnical firmware debt propose mitigation options and executebased on businesspriorities.
Clearly documentcode functionality and organization using bestpractices.
Work withtechnical support to diagnose and troubleshoot customerissues.
Champion processimprovements to increase quality reduce costs and improveefficiency.
Participate inagile planning events including Scrums sprint planning andretrospectives.
Demonstrateability to work with cross functional and global teams with theability to align and bring best in class processes coding standardsetc.
Work closelywith other developer leads / managers / architects & testteams gather requirements prioritize development efforts &deliver businessvalue.
Demonstratestrong knowledge in the firmware development domain. Willingness togain handson experience with the products/systems/domain whileworking as adeveloper.
Requirements
Core RequiredSkills
Demonstrableprogramming skills and previous experience (3 years) of firmwaredevelopment usingC.
Strongbackground and understanding of electric circuit fundamentals andable to read electronic schematicdiagrams.
Experiencedeveloping embedded products using real time operating systems(RTOS) FreeRTOS and/or Contiki experience aplus.
Able to developdevice drivers when given datasheets and productschematics.
Experience withcommon embedded protocols: I2C SPI USARTetc
Revision control(Git andGithub)
Should be ableto handle and use basic lab equipment to aid in test and debug ofembedded system: Oscilloscope AC/DC power sources multimetersetc
Aprofessional proactive attitude with good interpersonalskills
Bea resultoriented team player. Leader &selfmotivated
Good at oral& written communication in English Fluent in French orwilling to a learn aplus.

Experiencedeveloping battery powereddevices
Experience withwireless protocols: Zigbee BLE Thread 802.15.4etc
Familiar withSecure Development Life Cycle(SDLC)

Interestor experience with smart devices smart home systems andIoTPlatforms
Interest orexperience with environmental sensing mechanisms/processes andability to apply this knowledge when developingfirmware.
Qualifications
EEEngineer Computer Engineer or CS with 3 years of relevantdevelopmentexperience.
