As a Principal Engineer at Ozone, you will be a key technology leader, driving the architectural and design decisions that shape our cutting-edge open banking API software platform. Key responsibilities
  • Lead the architectural vision and software design for Ozone's product suite, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technological advancements.
  • Develop and implement best practices in system architecture, design patterns, and microservices, influencing the technical direction of our products.
  • Drive the adoption of Kubernetes and cloud solutions, optimising scalability, and reliability across our platform.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders to align technology initiatives with company strategy and customer needs.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in software engineering, applying this knowledge to keep Ozone at the forefront of the industry.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in software development, with a comprehensive understanding of system design, software architecture, and design patterns.
  • Proficiency in a NodeJs, Typescript and containerisation.
  • Expertise in microservices architecture and Kubernetes, with a strong background in implementing cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex technical projects and making high-impact architectural decisions.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams towards achieving technical excellence.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset, capable of addressing both technical and business challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to articulate technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience with MongoDB will be an added advantage
  • Experience of using gitops tools like rancher, argocd, spacelift for infrastructure management is a huge plus
  • Experience of working in a product-based organised and awareness of product management would be a big plus
