Mission (Why does this role exist?) and Scope (About the Job) You will be applying your in-depth knowledge and experience in electro-mechanical product development to the detail design and development of products that use polymers, metals and rubbers and which closely interface with PCBs and high-power electrical components. You will be working closely with team members across our global development team, so your spoken and written communication needs to be clear and effective in order to be able to present your ideas, your concepts and your feedback. You will be problem-solving on new product development, identifying and resolving root causes of field failures and implementing effective cost reduction opportunities. Key Responsibilities and Outcomes (What the Person needs to accomplish in the role ?)

ØGood Exposure in Designing electromechanicalproducts

ØBasic understanding on UL/IEC and related standards.

ØGood Exposure on plastics, Sheetmetal, casting part design and manufacturing process

ØBasic understanding on cable assemblies, ECAD/MCADintegrations

ØGood exposure on structural and thermal designconsiderations is a plus

ØGood Exposure on DFX for high volumeproduction is a plus

ØKnowledge on prototype techniques for Design development andverification

ØGood in SolidWorks and EPDM. Knowledge on any other CAD packages will be an added advantage

ØExposure on CAE tools is an addedadvantage

ØMinimum of 5 years relevantexperience

JOB Description:

Designing new components and products, sometimes as sole contributor but often as part of a team ofcontributors Support on Reviewing and analyzing solutions to achieve the best outcome for performance/cost/schedule Design, review for DPPM,DFMEA, manufacturing reviews etc Testing proof-of-concepts and prototypes forperformance Failure analysis and root causeidentification Component review and approval, including global travel to be on-site at vendors during pre- productionstage. Generating concept proposals, analysis reports, component specifications, reviewminutes Ensure quality bydesign Qualifications: Education, Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Behaviour) and Experience Bachelor's Degree (or higher qualification) in MechanicalEngineering 5+ years industry work experience in productdevelopment In-depth knowledge and understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) of parts made through injection moulding, sheet metal, stamping,milling/turning Experience using Computer-Aided evelopment tools(SolidWorks) Clear communication - verbal andwritten Experience in the design and sustaining activities on high-volume products (+500k pa) would be a plus and also previous employment in high-power and consumer products industries would be aplus.
