Tax Associate

Job level- 3 Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

PURPOSE

To handle and guide all taxation related matters including support on litigations (specially Indirect Tax)

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Carries out functional tasks in a tax team under supervision. Has responsibility for supporting the team in execution of tax processes, in accordance with current legislation and within pre-established deadlines.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

(IPE Factors: Impact & Innovation)

TAXATION

Calculation of Advance Tax, Payment and related accounting & reconciliation. Calculation of Goods & Service Tax, Payment and related accounting & reconciliation. Verification of TDS calculation, supervising and ensuring timely payment Filing of TDS Return – Quarterly Basis and generation of TDS certificates. Filing of Goods & Service Tax Return – Half Yearly basis. Support in preparation and filing of Income Tax Return Preparing and organizing documents for Transfer Pricing Assessment. Providing requirements for Income Tax Assessment Providing requirements for Lower WHT application. Handling Goods & Service tax Audit and assessment Ensuring Tax related compliance & Tax SOP Accounting of TDS receivables and reconciliation with 26AS for Interest income. Handling time to time queries and ad-hoc requirements for various litigations and requirements from various tax departments Cordination with Country Tax Centre (CTC) for Income Tax related queries

MONTHLY MANAGEMENT REPORT

Accounting for Interest payable and receivable. Accounting for Corporate tax provision. Preparation and updation of Tax related financial schedules.

TREASURY

Cash Flow management – placement of surplus fund in Fixed Deposits. Placement and renewal of Bank Guarantees. Handling of monthly and weekly bank reconciliation.

AUDIT

Managing Tax Audit & Transfer pricing Audit and providing assistance in relation to handling of various audit

O THERS

Handling Taxation matters pertaining to foreign payments. Support with Transfer Pricing Audits Supporting in dealing with JNPT related issues, correspondence and reconciliation. Ensuring adequate controls over the cash management as per APM Terminals standards Continuous process improvement. Developing and training subordinates. Other ad-hoc requirements from time to time

CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

(IPE Factor: Knowledge)

Chartered Accountant with 4+ years of experience in Indirect taxes Good knowledge of MS Office tools
